GILDED AGE SEASON TWO
FIRST IMAGES AND AIR DATE
Well, it has been an extremely long wait, but HBO has finally announced that the second season of Julian Fellowes' costume drama GILDED AGE will land October 29th with eight new episodes set again during the Gilded Age in America, a period of immense economic change, of great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems and of fortunes made and lost. Over in the United Kingdom, the new season will start a day later, October 30th on Sky Atlantic! Check out the gorgeous costumes in trailer below:
THE SECOND SEASON
begins on Easter morning 1883, with the news that Bertha Russell’s (Carrie Coon) bid for a box at the Academy of Music has been rejected. Throughout the season, Bertha challenges Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy) and the old system and works to not only gain a foothold in Society but to potentially take a leading role in it. George Russell (Morgan Spector) takes on his own battle with a growing union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh. In the Brook House, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) continues her journey to find her way in the world secretly teaching at a girls’ school while much to everyone’s surprise Ada (Cynthia Nixon) begins a new courtship. Of course, Agnes (Christine Baranski) approves of none of it. In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to heal from a shocking discovery, and Peggy (Denée Benton) taps into her activist spirit through her work with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe. You can check out who has joined the second season cast in our previous post. Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson, Nathan Lane all return.

Yeeeh and October is around the corner!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a very busy week as we have Gilded, Lions of Sicily and Fellow Travellers all premiering then.
DeleteFunny costumes...we just watched a spanish Comedy-Drama Es War Zeit (not sure its English title) and it was a good one.
ReplyDeleteNot sure which one is that, did I post about it here?
DeleteI just can't with Cynthia Nixon. She irritates me into my soul.
ReplyDeleteMe too, but here she is actually great and deeply likeable. I was talking with Malena, how it is a kinda of a justice that Nixon is loved here for playing exactly what she hates in her private life - a kind, obedient and quiet little woman LOL I think you and Allysabeth would actually love this show, you should watch the first season on HBO, it is gorgeous visually and the music is out of this world! There are a few hot hunks in it too!
DeleteWe were just discussing how we're ready to cancel hulu because Allison wants HBO. I just haven't been able to justify signing up for HBO until recently. The programs just weren't interesting, but there are a few on there now that I want to see, so we'll ride out the rest of this month with Hulu then will ditch it and grab HBO next month. I may bite and give this one a go, even if I want to puke on Nixon every time I see her.
DeleteYou also have Julia Child series on HBO and also Warrior series, which is outstanding, and you can watch it with lord Jason.
DeleteI did watch Julia when I was using the old bestie's account. Warrior we did not watch though, so that would be another one in the plus category for HBO.
DeleteIt is really good.
