THE GILDED AGE SERIES SEASON 4 

In their latest exclusive reel of what to expect in the second part of the year, HBO Max has unveiled, among others, first look at the fourth season of their popular costume drama THE GILDED AGE which arrives sometime this year and the trailer below shows Bertha dancing with her husband smiling which might mean the troubles in their marital paradise are over?  After Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) changed society at a cost, her family must reckon with the consequences while Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) seizes in the new season an opportunity to regain her position. Meanwhile, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) forges a new path for herself, and Peggy (Denée Benton) works to be accepted by her future in-laws. There will also be a whole line of new characters in the fourth season.

 

THE WAR SERIES WITH DOMINIC WEST

HBO has also shared glimpses at their new six part thriller TV series WAR with Dominic West as tech titan Morgan Henderson and Sienna Miller as his estranged wife in a series that follows two of London’s most prestigious rival firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, as they go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century. Each side is certain they’ll win. But as the case spirals and loyalties fracture, reputations are on the line, and everyone’s  playing to win. This is just the beginning as the series has been ordered for two seasons - season one’s explosive case is the first in an anthology of headline-making legal battles. Sky will air the series in UK. HBO keeps on casting new faces for the fourth season of their 19th century set costume drama THE GILDED AGE. Joining the regular cast is Andrew Burnap as as Porter, a young gentleman of Society with an Ivy League education and money to invest in exciting new ventures. Jim Gaffigan will play Grover Cleveland, the 22nd President of the United States, who comes to New York to curry favor with the elite class. Dallas Roberts joins as Daniel Manning, a seasoned politician and Secretary of the Treasury under President Grover Cleveland. Elizabeth Marvel stars as Nurse Virginia Saville, a kind nurse who works at the Neighborhood Settlement House in the Lower East Side.

HBO has added some new names to the fourth season of their 19th century costume drama THE GILDED AGE. Meanwhile, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) forges a new path for herself, 

Neal Huff, James Scully and Taylor Trensch have joined the cast

and Peggy (Denée Benton) works to be accepted by her future in-laws. Taylor Trensch will play Oliver, a new addition to the van Rhijn household. James Scully is Lee Klein, an artist who sells his first painting at an unforgettable society event, and an apprentice to the famed artist William Merritt Chase. Dennis Haysbert is Dr. Reginald Harris, William Kirkland’s mentor, who visits New York to fundraise for the Freedman’s Hospital in Washington DC and makes a surprising connection. Maggie Kuntz is Fiona Summers, cousin to the prominent Astors, a free-spirited young woman from a good family who is not afraid to explore the limits of convention. Neal Huff is John D. Rockefeller, the famed businessman and oil tycoon, a self-made man of humble origins, now one of the richest and most powerful in the world,  and philanthropist, he does not always see eye to eye with his fellow robber barons. Bonnie Milligan is Mrs. Knapp Curtis, the trailblazing editor of the popular periodical The Ladies’ Home Journal.

Well, it has been an extremely long wait, but HBO is finally bringing us the second season of Julian Fellowes' wonderful and highly entertaining costume drama GILDED AGE which will land October 29th with eight new episodes set again during the Gilded Age in America, a period of immense economic change, of great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems and of fortunes made and lost. Over in the United Kingdom, the new season will start a day later, October 30th on Sky Atlantic! THE SECOND SEASON

Throughout the season, Bertha challenges Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy) and the old system and works to not only gain a foothold in Society but to potentially take a leading role in it. George Russell (Morgan Spector) takes on his own battle with a growing union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh. In the Brook House, Marian (Louisa Jacobson) continues her journey to find her way in the world secretly teaching at a girls’ school while much to everyone’s surprise Ada (Cynthia Nixon) begins a new courtship. Of course, Agnes (Christine Baranski) approves of none of it. In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to heal from a shocking discovery, and Peggy (Denée Benton) taps into her activist spirit through her work with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe. Staircase will stream on HBO Max May 5th

After the recent teaser, HBO has released a full trailer for their eight episode series THE STAIRCASE starting May 5th with three opening episodes with the rest of them airing then one per week! Starring Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, Juliette Binoche, Dane DeHaan, Rosemarie DeWitt, Tim Guinee, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Parker Posey, it is  based on a true story and explores the life of Michael Peterson (Firth), his sprawling North Carolina family, and the very suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson (Collette).
