OLD ROME SERIES TO STREAM ON PRIME VIDEO IN EUROPE
|
The show is shooting over in Italy
|
Although it will stream on
Peacock in USA,
Roland Emmerich's new historical series
THOSE ABOUT TO DIE has closed deals to stream on
Prime Video around Europe!
Anthony Hopkins stars as Emperor Vaspasian during the height of the Roman Empire when the population - bored, restless, and increasingly violent - is kept in line mainly by two things: free food and spectacular entertainment, in the form of chariot racing and gladiator fights. The races at Circus Maximus are controlled by four Patrician-owned corporations, the Blue, Red, White, and Green factions, and shares in the four factions are the most valuable things in Rome.
Tom Hughes, Rupert Penry Jones, Iwan Rheon also star in the $150 million series.
All I need to know is "when?"
ReplyDeleteNext year, it is still shooting over in Cinecitta studios in Rome! I think, or maybe they finished, I am confused with the strike on!
DeleteI checked it out, out of all the cast only Hopkins is in SAGTRA and he shot his scenes at the very beginning, the rest are not in the USA union and the scripts were done before the writers' strike. They are also hoping for the show to have up to four seasons.
Deletethat steroid pumped body doesn't look good to me..
ReplyDeleteThey did not have steroids in ancient Rome, that is how your body looks like when you do nothing but fight all day in the arena.
DeleteI don’t have peacock but I have prime. Hope our prime eventually gets it!
ReplyDeleteNo, it is Peacock's in USA, but it is interesting that they managed to make it the most expensive European series ever exactly because they are selling it to individual broadcasters and streamers not just to one on a global level, that is how they managed to get 150 million budget.
DeleteI'd say they figured out how to game the system and rake in top dollars then!
DeleteThat is how they made it possible for Roland to shoot what he wanted and how he imagined, it should be lavish.
