And it will be quite stellar - three part series adaptation of Agatha Christie's TOWARDS ZERO, set in England in 1936, will follow British tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and his ex-wife Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland), who make the unthinkable decision to spend a summer together at Gull’s Point, their childhood home and the coastal estate of 
Nevile’s aunt, Lady Tressilian (Anjelica Huston). With unfinished business between the former childhood sweethearts, plus the presence of Nevile’s new wife Kay (Mimi Keene), tensions are running high. Add to this a long-suffering lady’s companion, a mysterious gentleman’s valet, an exiled cousin
with a grudge, a venerable family lawyer, an inquisitive orphan and a French con man, and soon there will be murder. A troubled detective must rediscover his purpose to untangle a toxic web of jealousy, deceit and dysfunction. Can he solve the crime before another victim meets their death? Jack Farthing, Matthew Rhys, Clarke Peters will also star.

Agatha Christie's books are really good, so I'm sure this movie will be stellar.

DeleteAnjelica Huston hasn't changed much...her towering height adds the charm to the roles she played in most films..

DeleteI haven't been keen on all the changes they effect (in new adaptations). Some of the BBC radio adaptations of AC's work have been more faithful to the novels. Then again I wouldn't mind an adaptation/some adaptations of other old guard mystery writers such as Dorothy L Sayers.
ReplyDeleteYes, all of the recent BBC adaptations were insufferable, I tried watching Murder is Easy last December and did not survive more than one episode and that one barely.
DeleteOh man, I’m torn on this. I haven’t been a fan of the past Agatha adaptations, but I do like Angelica Huston. She is an odd bird, but I like that about her. I might have to give this a try.
