NEW AMAZON'S SERIES
HISTORICAL 'POINT OF HONOUR'
In today's TV news, Amazon has announced their series pilots for 2015, among which we shall watch MAD DOGS and POINT OF HONOUR! The later one is set at the start of the Civil War, when a Virginia family, led by their West Point bred son, John Rhodes (Nathan Parsons), makes the controversial decision to defend the South while freeing all of their slaves. At battle against his northern brethren and his best friend and brother in-law Robert Sumner (Christopher O’Shea), John leaves his three strong willed sisters at home to run the plantation that is now without a free labour source. The choice to protect the life they have always known and defend the moral high ground will pit the family against one another and test their strength, courage and love. Annabelle Stephenson, Riley Voelkel, Patrick Heusinger, Luke Benward, Lucien Laviscount also star!
'MAD DOGS'
Based on deeply suspenseful UK series, MAD DOGS will follow the twisted reunion of a group of underachieving forty something friends who are all at different crossroads in their lives. Celebrating the early retirement of an old friend at his gorgeous Belize villa, grudges begin to emerge and secrets explode as their trip becomes a labyrinthine nightmare of lies, deception and murder. It is a twisted tale of friendship put to the ultimate test. As an inconceivable chain of events unfolds, cracks within the group widen before the friends realize that the only people they can trust are each other, the last people they want to be relying on. Steve Zahn, Billy Zane, Romany Malco, Michael Imperioli and Ben Chaplin play the friends! I have to admit that I kinda liked the casting of the British series much better than the ensemble in the American version!

NEW 'TESTAMENT OF YOUTH'
POSTER & TRAILER WITH ALICIA VIKANDER AND KIT HARINGTON
Both a gorgeous new poster and a trailer have been released for TESTAMENT OF YOUTH drama which stars Alicia Vikander, Kit Harrington, Colin Morgan, Dominic West, Emily Watson, following free spirited Vera who starts enjoying her time at Oxford, her friends and her new romance when suddenly all is shattered with the start of World War I in which she will lose everything she loved!
Sadly, there are MANY underachieving 40-somethings who will relate to Mad Dogs!
ReplyDeleteit is a really interesting story, because when they get there their friend who owns the villa gets killed and they get scared that the foreign laws of the country will see them as murderers and that is when the plot starts to thicken.... And they're all ordinary people, not some spies or criminals
DeleteLooking forward to "Testament of Youth" SO much!
ReplyDeleteit does look like a brilliant drama and right in the good moment
DeleteI actually think both Amazon series sound great, though I am really looking forward to Mad Dogs. Sounds suspenseful!
ReplyDeleteand beside those two they are also preparing THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE sf series too. MAD DOGS were rather intriguing and captivating in the British version... not sure the US version will have the same suspense
DeleteI am in for MAD DOGS... used to be a hot dog stand I used to visit at school... great!
ReplyDeleteTry to check out the British version... just like as with BEING HUMAN... this one will probably be better in UK original
DeleteSeems they're trying to counter Netflix with the original series.
ReplyDeleteObviously! But these are all just pilots, they might not get turned into series
DeleteKen Burns documentary on The Civil War will always be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI too think the UK versions of many movies, series, is the better presentation.
Testament of Youth is going to be a heart-breaker - might as well get the tissues!
UK and European shows and films always have better atmosphere and more spirit.
DeleteOver here the 'spirit' is to keep one blinded and distracted... hmm?
Deleteso very true and also to keep people stupidified :)
DeleteReally looking forward to 'Point of Honour'- not just because Christopher O'Shea is really good looking ;-)
ReplyDeletewe do love Chrissy, and we still remember him from BABY DADDY :)
DeleteCouldn't get the clip to play, but I'll watch Testament of Youth with Kit Harrington. :)
ReplyDeleteIt still works, maybe not for those in USA :) Try to find it at YouTube, it's better than the first trailer! I will watch the film for Colin Morgan!
DeleteDezmond...how's life? Can you please stop taunting me with pictures of hot men. I'm very easily sidetracked, you know.
ReplyDeleteMad Dogs - I'm in.
hot men, hot ladies.. that is how we serve eyecandy here!
DeleteAll cool news, especially Mad Dogs. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it!
