CHANNING TATUM & JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT IN "GUYS AND DOLLS" REMAKE! ARMIE HAMMER & TOM CRUISE IN "THE MAN FROM THE UNCLE"! RUAN REYNOLDS IN TARSEM'S "SELFLESS" SF THRILLER

  CHANNING TATUM
 GUYS AND DOLLS REMAKE
Here's yet another remake in works: "Deadline" writes that 20th Century Fox is preparing a new version of GUYS AND DOLLS musical classic from the 1950's! And apparently Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon Levitt are wanted for the two lead roles! You probably remember that the original film had Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra with the story following Nathan Detroit, a gambler trying to set up his own craps game, who bets his friend Sky Masterson that he can't convince the wholesome missionary Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons) to come to Havana with him. Channing Tatum has proved his musical skills many times in his movies. You will see him next year in sf epic JUPITER ASCENDING and also in the new sequels to G.I. JOE 4 and 21 JUMP STREET!

  ARMIE HAMMER & TOM CRUISE

THE MAN FROM THE U.N.C.L.E. SCIENCE FICTION FILM
We shall see an interesting duo in another remake - the big screen version of the 60s show THE MAN FROM THE U.N.C.L.E. "Deadline" reports that MIRROR MIRROR and THE LONE RANGER star Armie Hammer might join Tom Cruise in the movie which will see Cruise playing Napoleon Solo and Armie playing Illya Kuryakin, two agents working for the United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.). In the classic show the story centred on U.N.C.L.E.'s battles with the Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (T.H.R.U.S.H.). The film is being directed by Guy Ritchie.

  RYAN REYNOLDS & TARSEM
 SELFLESS SF FILM
And I have yet another piece of info on hunky Ryan Reynolds this week, but I'm sure you don't mind (winking at my ladies). As "Deadline" writes he might possibly join SELFLESS science fiction thriller which could have amazing Tarsem Sing (MIRROR MIRROR, THE CELL, THE FALL, IMMORTALS) as the helmer since he is currently negotiating to take the directing job.  The unusual plot of the film follows a rich older man who pays to have his mind transferred to a younger man's body. The body he is transplanted into turns out to be the cadaver of man who was murdered. He soon finds himself being hunted down by the killers as he tries to figure out why his new body was murdered in the first place.

  1. Hmmm, more remakes. No surprise there.

But I do like the premise of that Reynolds film. I'm about ready to transplant my brain into a younger body too. :P

    2. I know Weisz but will have to Google the other girl. Remake of the Wizard of Oz. I don't know if I would watch it, if/when they do.

    3. That was a joke, Ivy, OZ with Rachel and Mila was done this year and was a big blockbuster two months ago worldwide, I wrote about it dozens of times :)

  3. Guy Ritchie did a great job of reinventing Sherlock Holmes -- it will be interesting to see what he does with The Man From UNCLE!

  5. Informations for women this time? it seems that some girls enjoy it !
(no problem for me : they are actors!)

Seriously: only remakes ??? the stories don't look very impressive ... or I'm very exigent.
(and I don't like to know too much about a movie:
if somebody tell me : it's a good movie, that's enough!)

  6. well, I like Joseph Gordon-Leavitt but I'm a little tired of remakes. Seriously, can't someone in Hollywood take a freaking chance on something original? As for Channing and Ryan, I'm afraid neither appeal.

  8. Tom Cruise twists and distorts another beloved TV classic? Enough of the reboots, rehashes, and remakes already. It's already old.

  11. I loved the show The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Why did they cast Cruise in it? Why do they cast him in anything-he's a looney toon.

Guys and Dolls looks good. A real surprise to see that one remade, but I'm up for it. Loved the original.

    1. I've heard that for $5 you get older body and younger brain, and only if you ain't cheap and pay more you get the opposite :)

P.S. Reynolds is a blue man, too. Or he is a good actor and he fooled me.

Armie in anything is terrific as well. He's such a cutie and so gentlemanly.
