from world-class fighters, historians and weapons experts. The show had battles like Spartan vs Ninja, Viking vs Samurai, Pirate vs Knight, Comanche vs Mongol. They also had George Washington vs Napoleon Bonaparte, Theodore Roosevelt vs Lawrence of Arabia etc. It will be interesting to see how they will put this together in a live action film.
HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
You know this is the part of the year when big TV stations order their pilots, and I will have a spotlight on the upcoming pilots soon, but here are some of the brand new ones: according to "Digital Spy" Scott Speedman will lead ABC's pilot LAST RESORT, in which the story
will revolve around the crew of a nuclear submarine who become fugitives after refusing to fire nuclear missiles. Speedman will play an even-handed and moral officer, the second-in-command on the submarine. Another interesting pilot on ABC will be GILDED LILYS, which is set in 1895 and focuses on the first luxury hotel in New York. Produced by GREY'S ANATOMY creator, the pilot already has Brian O'Byrne (MILDRED PIERCE), Sarah Bolger (THE TUDORS), Madeline Zima (THE NANNY) and Blythe Danner in the cast. On the other hand, SPARTACUS super star Lucy Lawless will appear in Jane Campion's mini series TOP OF THE LAKE, alongside MAD MEN's Elisabeth Moss, Holy Hunter, Peter Mullan and David Wenham, with the story set in New Zealand's mountains and following what happens when a pregnant 12-year-old girl seen standing in a frozen lake goes missing.

You remember how THE MUPPETS made parodies on other blockbusters in a slate of trailers last year? Well, Ice Age producers have decided to do the same, by making a black and white trailer poking fun
with the Oscar nominated THE ARTIST film in order to advertise ICE AGE CONTINENTAL DRIFT which comes out this July. Check out the delightful parody bellow. The fourth part of the super successful animated saga follows our beloved primordial animals battling flood after the continental drift, caused by Scrat and his acorn, and also battling some unexpected ancient pirates.
PS don't forget to visit my dear Annezilla today who made me into a rainbow breathing dragon :) You gotta see that one.
lol, poor Scrat!
ReplyDeleteyou mean poor Scratist :)
Delete:P
Delete:)
DeleteWowzer, that picture of Lucy Lawless is...wow.
ReplyDeleteAnd why am I only now hearing about this show Deadliest Warrior? I really do need to come out of my cave more often. Off to check YouTube for clips of the show. I gotta see a ninja going up against a Spartan.
I was left speechless after discovering that pic of Lucy :)))) All ladies should pose like that :)
DeleteDon't worry, Luanne, I've never seen that show either :) but it seems interesting.
LOL, I'm going to go look for a red tablecloth then...might have poinsettias on it though. :P
Deletehubby hubs will be thrilled :) You will need blow driers too to keep the tablecloth waving around you :)
DeleteAhhhh ICE age awesome movie
ReplyDeleteit's the best animated franchise ever ;)
DeleteMy hubby would never eat any cookie dough or raw batter...so he thinks I'm a bit nuts :) Quality control...LOL
ReplyDeleteyou really are a bit nuts, Lizzy, just a bit ;PPPPP
Deletehaha that was a great parody, Poof scrat better get that nut stat or I'll just put him out of his misery and give him to the cat.
ReplyDeletewhat the hell? Tell me you didn't just threaten poor Scrat! :)
DeleteIt was more like a mercy killing..haha
Deletethere's no way me and penguins will allow caticide of poor Scrat :)
DeleteI'm not interested in any of the new telly programs, but the Scatist, that's good. I love your new background Dez, those Calla lilies are singing my song.
ReplyDeletethat's actually my original background, the one I've been using for years now when I don't have a holiday one :) It's become my trademark. I love the positive vibe and the vibe it emits. After seeing so many black and dark blogs I think people like to relax their eyes here :)
DeleteI agree, love the vibrant background! It says spring :D
ReplyDeleteI love the parody, so fun~
The other TV shows look scandelous.. ;D
glad you like it, Ella :) It's still far from spring here, we still have tones of unmelted snow, but this is my legendary background :)
DeleteI'm sorry. It took me a minute to clean the steam from glasses after Lucy's pic. Holy Hell she looks hot! ;) Love, love the Scratist. He is so adorable, the best character really.
ReplyDeleteThe Gilded Lily sounds fantastic. I love that period of time.
I was extremely happy when I found that pic of Lucy's :) It's actually a fresh one promoting SPARTACUS VENGEANCE, I think I will put the whole pic (with naked Liam McIntyre too) in my old spotlight on the show, since that's one of my most visited posts :) I've become sort of a SPARTACUS central for people visiting Google :)
DeleteDez: Spartacus Central...I love it!
Delete:) There is a number of shows and celebs whose pics and posts mostly arrive from me around the net :) Wish some of them would thank me at least, like Luke Evans did.
DeleteI've had a crush on Lucy Lawless ever since I watched Xena when I was younger.
ReplyDeletewho hasn't :)
DeleteWould you believe I met Lucy Lawless once in real life? Well actually I didn't really, my dad was talking to her while I was skiing as a kid, but my hand got stuck on the rope you hold that pulls you up the slope, I almost got sucked into the machine after getting out I went over to him and said hi to her briefly while I hobbled to the warm cafe on the mountain.
ReplyDeleteah, your lucky dad :)
DeleteNot very interested in most of these sorry. :(
ReplyDeletebetter luck next time, Damien. It's been a slow week in the film department :(
DeleteI love that Artist parody!! brilliant
ReplyDeleteit's lovely, isn't it?
DeleteOh wow, that's a TV show I would want to watch.
ReplyDeletewhich one? :)
DeleteWow. So much news. Thanks for sharing. I don't know where I've been but I've missed Deadliest Warriors. It sounds like a great show. And it does make one wonder how they will make a feature length film on the concept. The last time I watched Lucy Lawless was on Battle Star Galactica. Thanks for the heads up on the next crop of shows.
ReplyDeletewelcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY, Kathi, hope to see you here often :)
DeleteI think they will have some historical plot in which they will gather some of those warriors together, it won't be like in the show :)
teeheehee- scrat!
ReplyDeleteScat the hilarious :)
DeleteDang, does Lucy ever look bad? I have to admit that Spartacus got to be a little too much for me. I'm not watching it any more. I wanted to like it, but just couldn't connect any more. I'm glad she's going to be doing something else.
ReplyDeleteI've loved both SPARTACUS' season, but I still haven't seen this current one with the new actor. Hope I will love it. Lucy is abnormally amazing in the role of Lucretia :)
Deletenice pic
ReplyDeleteit is isn't it? :)
Deletethe only reason i watched ice age more than once, is because of this squirel thing
