  1. They both look way too hot for their own good. I always think that Phillippe has much potential and I am impatiently awaiting Bright Star. So I hope this is good.

  2. Good choice for cast. Ryan and Sean do look a little alike, and they both could pass as very convincing Vikings. And Abby has that classic English look/appearance.

  3. Yes, they are both hot, especially when in not so much clothes on them :)
Abby got her five minutes of fame after ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE, while Ryan really deserves to be viewed as an actor and not just as a famous husband, ex-husband and now a boyfriend of famous actresses :)

  4. Phillipe wasn't bad in Franklyn, that's the only film of memory that I have seen him in, though I know he's done many other films, just nothing that really seems to get his name out there.

  5. As far as I know this film is a no-go. I know that Abbie's site is reporting that she is no longer attached and I can't believe the others are either. Since this film was first reported there was A) a writer's strike B) a fail with Menno Mejyes' last few films C)a tightening of overall financing.

  6. HOLLYWOOD SPY often deals with exclusive preprepreprepreproduction :)) news, so although this film was sometimes a no-go and then yes-go and so on and so on, it doesn't mean it won't get in production again some time in a closer or more distant future.
The same thing happened to many other films that we announced four or five years ago, and they are finally in production now or will be in upcoming days.

Ryan was also good in CRASH and GOSFORD PARK.

  7. OK, DEZMOND, but the blurb can't even get it right that "Bright Star" is about Keats, not Shelley.

  8. Thanks for creating the poster, but her name is "Abbie" Cornish, not "Abby." I hope this film gets made some day.

  9. These are drought years for historical epics in Hollywood. There are quite a few movies announced, but most of them get stuck in production, or get delayed for a few years.

I think it's easier (and maybe less expensive) to shoot a heavy special effects and CGI action/fantasy films like superhero movies or Transformers, than it is with historical epic. With most of those movies you can use existing settings and costumes/clothes, and then later add everything out of ordinary and fantastic in post-production (CGI mostly). It is not so easy with historical films. You have to work harder with those from the very start.

  10. I apologize for the mix between Keats and Shelley. I always, somehow, put the two of them together, and I've been talking with a friend about these two romantic poets while watching the trailer for BRIGHT STAR, and after that as well, so it mixed the two of them even more in my head :) Can't wait to see Ben Whishaw in the film although I'm not a fan of Jane Campion.

PS why are you hiding behind the ANONYMOUS name? :)

Greetings to JUST ME, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY, hope to see you here often.

Yes, Bels, it's tougher with historical movies, but we still love them soooo much :)
