'ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS'

The greatest of news, people! One of our most beloved Irish hunks Jamie Dornan is in talks to star in ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS according to 'The Hollywood Reporter'! The not so great news: he won't be playing the hood wearing Robin even though he is kinda the biggest star in the cast. If he accepts the role in the film in which young Tarton Egerton is to play Robin, Dornan would play Will Scarlett!

In Lionsgate's version of the Robin Hood legend, to be directed by Otto Bathurst, Jamie Foxx will play Little John and Eve Hewson will portray Maid Marian!  Jamie Dornan would play Will Scarlett, one of Robin's brave Merry Men who is the hot headed wearer of fine clothes and the best swordsman of the bunch. In this version of the legend, which starts shooting in Hungary in January, he is Marian’s husband, who will be none too happy when he learns that she loves the outlaw.

'THE WHOLE TRUTH' TRAILER

Two trailers for you today, the first one for a new Keanu Reeves drama movie THE WHOLE TRUTH which is out next month.  Defense attorney Richard Ramsay (Keanu Reeves) takes on a personal case when he swears to his widowed friend, Loretta Lassiter (Renée Zellweger), that he will keep her son Mike (Gabriel Basso) out of prison. Charged with murdering his father, Mike initially confesses to the crime. But as the trial proceeds, chilling evidence about the kind of man that Boone Lassiter (Jim Belushi) really was comes to light. While Ramsay uses the evidence to get his client acquitted, his new colleague Janelle (Gugu Mbatha Raw) tries to dig deeper. And he begins to realize that the whole truth is something she alone can uncover.

The first trailer has also finally been released for sf adventure PASSENGERS with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence which  takes place on a space ship transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet in suspended animation. The trip takes a deadly turn when Jim and Aurora’s (Pratt and Lawrence) hibernation pods awaken them 90 years before anyone else. As Jim and Aurora look into the malfunction, they fall deeply in love while the ship starts falling apart and they have to try and save the other passengers.The movie's launch is set a few days before Christmas this December. It is interesting that the above mentioned Keanu was the original star of this movie.

The two of them play a young, freshly divorced couple without kids, but with a very loved canine 'baby' over whom they will have to somehow share custody with hilarious consequences!

Your Sunday bliss for today comes in the form of the gorgeous first poster and two new teasers for RAI's upcoming new historical saga MEDICI: MASTERS OF FLORENCE (also known as Kingdom of Gold) which is beginning its eight episodes launch over in Italy October 17th! The teasers are in Italian, but they will give you a glimpse into the visual splendour of our latest period set TV obsession starring everybody's favourite prince charming Richard Madden as the young prince of the political dynasty and their enterprising son, with Dustin Hoffman playing the patriarch Giovanni de Medici, as they ascend from simple merchants to power brokers. The series has already been sold to Germany, Japan, Australia, many European countries, Latin America. The premiere screening will be held in Florence at the Palazzo Vecchio on Oct. 14 and RAI has already ordered the second season!

 The Medici family suffers a great loss with the death of its patriarch Giovanni (Dustin Hoffman). When the designated heir Cosimo (Richard Madden) discovers that his father was poisoned, he decides to keep the news to himself and tries to get on the assassin’s trail. Cosimo, who has long abandoned his dream of becoming an artist, then takes his father’s place as head of the bank and of the Signoria, where he needs to defend himself against the hostility of the noble families. When the Duke of Milan annexes the city of Lucca away from Florentine dominion, Cosimo must decide whether to side with the nobility, as Giovanni would have done, or to free himself from his father’s shadow! After starting his career in one of the Dune adaptations and leading the cast in X Men, James McAvoy is returning to the science fiction genre again. As 'Deadline' reported this week he is negotiating to take the lead role in sf thriller EXTINCTION in which the story revolves around a man haunted by nightmares in which his wife is assaulted and who becomes a hero when Earth is invaded by an army bent on destruction. James McAvoy would play a father and chief mechanic at a factory who realizes those invading might not be what he expected.

KEANU REEVES IN 'REPLICAS'

In other sf news, Alice Eve is set to star next to Keanu Reeves in REPLICAS in which she would play his wife who dies in a car crash but is then cloned, allowing her memories and mind to live on.

As he makes his way into town to look for help, he finds only dead bodies, all with strange pale eyes. At first believing a deadly virus is in the air, he soon discovers the horrific truth which sets in motion an unbelievable chain of events.

As 'Deadline' reports the two of them play a long married couple who fear they are nearing the end of the road. So the couple decides to stretch that road by hopping aboard a vintage Winnebago LEISURE SEEKER to visit the Key West house of John’s hero, Ernest Hemingway. They do this despite the warnings of their doctors back in Boston and their grown children who all think this road trip is a bad idea.

I've shown you a couple of really amazing British movie trailers this week, and here's another one, equally beautiful, for Russell Tovey's, whom we adore to bits, THE PASS. Tovey and Arine Kene play two soccer players who share a kiss that changes their lives, the night before one of their biggest games. That kiss happens on the first of three important nights on which we meet the men, as we follow their story across the next decade. It is out in December. To make things even more lovely, another of our loves Nico Mirallegro is in it too!

Let us start with the big screen adaptation of the best selling book A STREET CAT NAMED BOB by James Bowen. Out this November, it stars Luke Treadaway, Joanne Froggatt and Anthony Head and Bob the cast as himself! Although, as a leading star, Bob the cat had many stunt double cats, he played most of the role himself  as a true feline thespian.

Based on the international best selling book it brings the inspiring and true feel good story of how James Bowen, a busker and recovering drug addict, had his life transformed when he met a stray ginger cat.

Cast is shaping up for the movie adaptation of Peter Cameron's novel ANDORRA with Toni Collette, Gillian Anderson and Joanna Lumley joining Clive Owen! He plays Alexander Fox, a bookseller who leaves the U.S. after a personal tragedy to begin a new life in the tiny country of ANDORRA. He quickly becomes entangled with the ever present locals. Toni Collette is Mrs Dent, an Australian with a large dog and a volatile secret. Joanna Lumley is Mrs Quay, the kayaking matriarch of an Andorran dynasty who seems to recall Fox from long ago. He finds comfort in the company of her daughter, Miss Quay (Gillian Anderson), as the mystery of his origin deepens. When a woman’s body is found soon after Fox’s arrival, the local lieutenant becomes strangely convinced that he is responsible. With his past threatening to envelop his newfound paradise, Fox finds himself in a crisis of conscience and identity, in a foreign country from which he may never  escape.

Talking about ensemble casts, 'Deadline' reports that Christina Hendricks has joined Glenn Close, Gillian Anderson, Max Irons, Stefanie Martini, Terence Stamp in the first movie adaptation of Agatha Christie's CROOKED HOUSE. Written by Downton Abbey's Julian Fellowes, it  follows private detective Charles Hayward who is invited to solve a gruesome crime where nobody is above suspicion, including Sophia, his client and former lover.

Not much to report this boring Monday, so I will entertain you with two heartwarming movies, starting with MILTON'S SECRET a movie about family and the uncertain times families live in. Milton (William Ainscough) is a 12 year old boy growing up in an economically and socially unpredictable world. His mother and father (Mia Kirshner, David Sutcliffe) are workaholics with marital and financial problems, and he is bullied at school. When his grandfather (Donald Sutherland) visits, Milton learns rehashing the past and worrying about the future are preventing him from finding true happiness. The movie is out September 30th!

You can also check out a new poster for a movie that premiered last week at Toronto Film Festival A UNITED KINGDOM, out this November, in which David Oyelowo plays Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana who causes an international stir when he marries a white woman (Rosamund Pike) from London in the late 1940s. It is expected to span 60 episodes over 6 seasons, with always unconvincing Claire Foy playing the Queen in the early part of her reign. Matt Smith plays her husband prince Philip, Jared Harris is King George VI, Vanessa Kirby will play queen's sister princess Margaret. John Lithgow will be British prime minister Winston Churchill, with Greg Wise portraying Lord Mountbatten. Jeremy Northam and Ben Miles also star. Oscar winner Stephen Daldry is directing some of the episodes!
