Our dearest Nico Mirallegro has a new gig! He will star in new sf drama movie CHATLINES in which Lloyd Eyre Morgan will star as Jordan, a 30-something with terminal cancer in 2027 who spends his final days drifting between morphine dreams and digital distractions. On a whim he uses an old Chatroulette-style app and on the screen appears Danny (Mirallegro), a sarcastic, vibrant guy, also terminally ill, who swears it’s 2005. As days pass, the two men form a deep bond, opening up about their regrets, dreams and the loneliness of facing death too soon.

Back in November your trusted spy told you that Paramount Plus had ordered a new UK original drama which they were shooting over at Tenerife and now we have the trailer for the six part STAGS series which follows groom-to-be Stu (Nico Mirallegro) and his friends on his stag do in South America. The series will hit Paramount Plus in UK August 15th!

Stu’s in-laws John and Kai will be played by Cavan Clerkin and Jojo Macari, whilst Paulina Galvez and Oscar Foronda are Selma and Branco Quispe, the two siblings who rule the prison Stu and his friends find themselves in.

Well, we did truly miss him ever so much, but one of our dearest of the British hunks - the super expressive and deeply magnetic Nico Mirallegro is returning to the small screens this month in new drama PENANCE. You probably still fondly remember his outstandingly emotional and believable performance in BBC series Rillington Place and Village and we also saw him in Mike Lee's Peterloo last year and in that superhot movie The Pass with Russell Tovey, so I'm hoping Nico will stun us with his talent in this one too, although it does seem it will be a darker role for him. The three episode television adaptation of Kate O'Riordan's novel of the same name, will premiere on Channel 5 March 17th, which is Tuesday and will then continue

An epic portrayal of the events surrounding the infamous 1819 Peterloo Massacre, where a peaceful pro democracy rally at St Peter's Field in Manchester turned into one of the bloodiest and most notorious episodes in British history. The massacre saw British government forces charge into a crowd of over 60,000 that had gathered to demand political reform and protest against rising levels of poverty. Many protesters were killed and hundreds more injured, sparking a nationwide outcry but also further government suppression. The Peterloo Massacre was a defining moment in British democracy which also played a significant role in the founding of The Guardian newspaper.

They do this despite the warnings of their doctors back in Boston and their grown children who all think this road trip is a bad idea.

There was some buzz around the project last week when it was revealed that the Biblical story will not have animals in it because the producers deemed it would make the movie less serious and more childish. Kinda ridiculous, isn't it? Fresh rumours from Hollywood today say that two of the huge future projects have put their eyes on possible lead stars. Young Liam Hemsworth has allegedly received an offer from 20th Century Fox to lead INDEPEN- DENCE DAY II which will again be helmed by Roland Emmerich with the premiere date set for June 2016 which is exactly twenty years after the original! Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum and Randy Quaid are all expected to return to their original roles! Michael B. Jordan might also join the cast!

CHRIS PRATT AS INDIANA JONES?

Meanwhile, over at Disney, they apparently want GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY star Chris Pratt to take over INDIANA JONES adventure franchise from Harrison Ford! He has already taken over another of their adventure series JURASSIC WORLD! The revival of Indiana Jones saga isn't expected before Disney launches their leading STAR WARS project. Frank Darabont was previously working on a possible new scenario.

'VIRTUOSO' HISTORICAL SERIES

SET IN 18TH CENTURY VIENNA
When it comes to today's television headlines, not only that the news say we are getting another historical TV series, but also the first one in recent years on classical musicians. As 'Deadline' reports, HBO has ordered a pilot episode of Elton John produced musical drama VIRTUOSO with the story set in the 18th century! With the production scheduled to begin this May in Hungarian capital Budapest, the story of the hour-long period drama will go on in 18th century Vienna, revolving around a class of young musicians attending the prestigious Academy of Musical Excellence. To be written by TRUE BLOOD's Alan Ball who will also direct and produce, VIRTUOSO already has the cast chosen: Peter Macdissi will play the lead, composer and teacher Antonio Salieri, who runs the musical conservatory. Iva Babic will play Leonid, a Russian cello prodigy. Francois Civil will play Isidoro, a Spanish guitar and flute prodigy. Lindsay Farris is Heinrich, an Austrian piano prodigy, our dear THE VILLAGE star Nico Mirallegro is Franz, an Austrian self-taught violin prodigy. Alex Lawther is Battista, an Italian castrato prodigy.

In period movie news, 'The Hollywood Reporter' writes today that Oscar winner Octavia Spencer will take the lead role in SEACOLE historical biopic in which the story revolves around Mary SEACOLE, a pioneering Jamaican doctress who battled prejudice to play a key role in the Crimean War, rivalling Florence Nightingale.The film, to be helmed by Charlie Stratton (IN SECRET) will reunite her with THE HELP producer Brunson Green.

DEZZY'S HISTORY LESSON
Seacole was born in 1805 to a free Jamaican woman and a Scottish officer. She followed in her mother's footsteps and became a nurse versed in traditional Caribbean and African herbal remedies. When the Crimean War broke out, she applied to be a nurse for the British government, but her request was denied. She paid her own passage to the Crimean Peninsula and set up a hotel for soldiers.
