ONE NATION, ONE KING (Un peuple et son roi) arrives into French cinemas as well this September! With the cast lead by Gaspard Ulliel, Niels Schneider, Olivier Gourmet and Louis Garrel, the movie follows the 1789 French Revolution told through the eyes of those who rose up to start it, and made history, in an inspirational and epic drama featuring some of the finest French actors of their generation and complimented by the visually stunning filmmaking of Pierre Schoeller.

An epic portrayal of the events surrounding the infamous 1819 Peterloo Massacre, where a peaceful pro democracy rally at St Peter's Field in Manchester turned into one of the bloodiest and most notorious episodes in British history. The massacre saw British government forces charge into a crowd of over 60,000 that had gathered to demand political reform and protest against rising levels of poverty. Many protesters were killed and hundreds more injured, sparking a nationwide outcry but also further government suppression. The Peterloo Massacre was a defining moment in British democracy which also played a significant role in the founding of The Guardian newspaper.

You've probably heard it by now, but here it is in case you've missed it: Tobias Menzies will play Prince Philip in season 3 of Netflix historical drama THE CROWN! There were rumours that Paul Bettany might take the role from Matt Smith, but it will be Rome, Game of Thrones and The Terror star who will play the queen's husband in their mature years. As you already know, the queen will be played in the third season by Olivia Colman. Vanessa Kirby who played Princess Margaret will be replaced now by Helena Bonham Carter!

And yet another beautiful new epic series to announce for you after a whole week of brilliant news from the historical series front! 'Deadline' reports that Netflix has ordered a ten episode TV adaptation of CURSED following Lady of the Lake from Arthurian legends.

CURSED, based on Frank Miller (300, Sin City, Ronin) and Tom Wheeler’s upcoming illustrated YA book of the same name, is told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful Lady of the Lake. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.
