a child and the wife goes into a recovery place to help her with overwhelming grief, leaving the husband at home alone. To help aid in her recovery, the husband decides to build a beautiful garden for his wife in their backyard, but as he does he is tormented by an aggressive, black starling. At his wits end with the relentless nature of the bird, he goes to see a veterinarian to find out if there is a humane way to get rid of it. The vet, the husband finds out, used to be a psychiatrist but gave it up to help animals instead. However, the quirky vet begins counselling the husband in a turn that neither of them really expected. This could be a very emotional role for Keanu whose own girlfriend died a year after they lost their baby.
Sf TV news today, people! I already informed you earlier this winter
that ABC is preparing a pilot for sf series THE CROSSING and now it has
been announced that Sandrine Holt will take the lead. It revolves around
refugees from a war torn country who start showing up to seek asylum in
an American town. But the country these people are from is America and
the war they are fleeing is 250 years in the future. The local sheriff
with a past, a federal agent, and a mother in search of her missing
refugee daughter drive this allegory with a surprising conspiracy at the
centre. Holt will be Emma Peralta, a federal customs agent whose keen
mind is always processing its surroundings, which allows her to
perpetually exude control amongst chaos. Heavily sceptical of the
refugees’ story and the concept of time travel, she nonetheless is
sympathetic enough to find the truth due to her rough past as an
immigrant.
Another SF series, the first one to be aired at YouTube, Dwayne Johnson produced LIFELINE has just cast one of our personal faves, stunning Zach Gilford in the lead role. Set in the not too distant future, the half hour series is about a little known life insurance company that sends its agents forward 33 days in time to prevent the accidental deaths of its clients. The company’s best agent, Conner Hooks (Zach Gilford), has never missed a save – until he takes on the most personal case of his life. When sixteen year old Norah (Sydney Park) is orphaned on his watch, Conner pledges to protect her, even if that means putting his career at LIFELINE, or his own life, in jeopardy.
The greatest of news, people! One of our most beloved Irish hunks Jamie Dornan is in talks to star in ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS according to 'The Hollywood Reporter'! The not so great news: he won't be playing the hood wearing Robin even though he is kinda the biggest star in the cast. If he accepts the role in the film in which young Tarton Egerton is to play Robin, Dornan would play Will Scarlett!
which is out next month. Defense attorney Richard Ramsay (Keanu Reeves) takes on a personal case when he swears to his widowed friend, Loretta Lassiter (Renée Zellweger), that he will keep her son Mike (Gabriel Basso) out of prison. Charged with murdering his father, Mike initially confesses to the crime. But as the trial proceeds, chilling evidence about the kind of man that Boone Lassiter (Jim Belushi) really was comes to light.
While Ramsay uses the evidence to get his client acquitted, his new colleague Janelle (Gugu Mbatha Raw) tries to dig deeper. And he begins to realize that the whole truth is something she alone can uncover.
The first trailer has also finally been released for sf adventure PASSENGERS with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence which takes place on a space ship transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet in suspended animation. The trip takes a deadly turn when Jim and Aurora’s (Pratt and Lawrence) hibernation pods awaken them 90 years before anyone else. As Jim and Aurora look into the malfunction, they fall deeply in love while the ship starts falling apart and they have to try and save the other passengers. The movie's launch is set a few days before Christmas this December. It is interesting that the above mentioned Keanu was the original star of this movie.
As 'Deadline' reported this week he is negotiating to take the lead role in sf thriller EXTINCTION in which the story revolves around a man haunted by nightmares in which his wife is assaulted and who becomes a hero when Earth is invaded by an army bent on destruction. James McAvoy would play a father and chief mechanic at a factory who realizes those invading might not be what he expected.
Meanwhile, sf action will also be seen on the big screen in sf thriller RADIUS in which Diego Klattenhoff and Charlote Sullivan are set to take the lead roles. The Memento style thriller centres on a young man who wakes from a car crash with no memory of who he is. As he makes his way into town to look for help, he finds only dead bodies, all with strange pale eyes. At first believing a deadly virus is in the air, he soon discovers the horrific truth which sets in motion an unbelievable chain of events.

seems that Keanu Reeves might take the lead role of a man who goes on a race against time, after receiving a package that includes a pre-recorded message from himself warning that he is the only man who can save the world. He must figure out this complex puzzle to save all of humanity before it's too late.
