SEE TRAILER FOR APPLE TV + PERIOD SET SERIES THE BUCCANEERS SET IN THE 1870'S LONDON HIGH SOCIETY

 THE BUCCANEERS SERIES
LOCK UP YOUR LORDS!
The series starts November 8th on Apple
Apple TV Plus has unveiled first trailer and air date for their new period set drama THE BUCCANEERS which will open with three episodes on November 8th and will then air the rest weekly. I have to say the cast in the trailer looks godawful, at least the younger part of it, such a sad miscast of mediocre faces and talentless brats.

THE SMALL SCREEN
adaptation of Edith Wharton’s unfinished final novel of the same name, has the story set in 1870s London. It follows a group of fun-loving young American girls who explode into the tightly corseted London season and kick off an Anglo-American culture clash as the land of the stiff upper lip is infiltrated by a disregard for centuries of tradition. Sent to secure husbands and titles, the buccaneers’ hearts are set on much more than that, and saying “I do” is just the beginning! The cast does not boast a lot of famous names, but Christina Hendricks stars as Mrs. St. George, Josh Dylan as Lord Richard Marable, Guy Remmers as Theo, Duke of Tintagel, Matthew Broome as Guy Thwarte and Barney Fishwick as Lord James Seadown. Check out the colourful trailer below and tell us what you think:

A new historical movie for you and it already has a cast, a stellar one! As 'Deadline' reports Christina Hendricks, Emily Watson, Max Riemelt and Abbie Cornish have all joined WW1 drama THE ANGEL MAKERS! Jon Amiel is to direct the story, set in the Yorkshire Moors in 1917. Survival is key when the men leave to join the allied fight in France, leaving their wives to maintain the farms. At their disposal, an internment camp of German POWs, all too happy to offer up their services, ignite an air of dangerous romance. Affairs begin and lust blossoms into love as the women of Yorkshire Moors discover something far more powerful: independence. When the husbands return, everyone turns to Sarah Rigg (Christina Hendricks), the midwife and witch doctor at the heart of the village, to mix the potions that can save a life… or take it away.

NEW BOOK ADAPTATIONS
'ANIMORPHS' GETS A MOVIE
Now, here's an interesting movie adaptation: Universal is planning on turning K.A. Applegate's bestselling series of novels ANIMORPHS into a movie! More than 50 novels in the series revolve around young people who come across a crashed alien spaceship. The dying alien gives them powers to transform into any animal they want. Using those powers the teenagers then fight against other aliens who have secretly invaded the planet disguised as humans. These books were previously adapted into a two season series over at Nickelodeon.
'ROADSIDE PICNIC' TV SERIES
Another adaptation, but this time a small screen one will be for beloved Russian sf novel ROADSIDE PICNIC from Arkady and Boris Strugatsky which is to be turned into TV series at WGN America! GAME OF THRONES director Alan Taylor is helming the story about an alien visitation to planet Earth, whose aftermath has led to the creation of “Zones” in the areas where the aliens had possibly landed. Such zones exhibit strange and dangerous phenomena not understood by humans, and contain artefacts with inexplicable, seemingly supernatural properties!

1ST PHOTOS OF EXTRAVAGANT OUTFITS FROM LAVISH CORONATION EPISODE OF 'REIGN' EPIC SHOW! COLIN MORGAN JOINS 'HUMANS' SF SHOW! MONSTER IN LAW' SITCOM! CHRISTINA HENDRICKS IN 'ANOTHER PERIOD' COMEDY SERIES

  COLIN MORGAN JOINS
'HUMANS' SF TV SERIES
Tones of TV news today, people, starting with our most beloved MERLIN star Colin Morgan returning to the small screens in new sf show HUMANS which will be a co production between British Channel 4 and American AMC. The plot of the show is set in a world where the new must-have gadget is a 'Synth' - an eerily lifelike robotic servant. Katherine Parkinson and Tom Goodman Hill will play a couple who purchase a Synth (Gemma Chan) but quickly come to regret their decision! Colin Morgan will play Leo - a young man on the run, while Neil Maskell will be a member of the Special Technologies Task Force. GAME OF THRONE's Will Tudor, Emily Berrington (24: Live Another Day) and Rebecca Front will also star in the English version of a Swedish series.

  CHRISTINA HENDRICKS IN
 'ANOTHER PERIOD' SITCOM
Two new comedy series have been announced today: Christina Hendricks will star in ANOTHER PERIOD historical comedy series at Comedy Central! Starring Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome the sitcom, set in the turn of the century, follows the misadventures of the Bellacourts, who have absolutely nothing to offer to the world, but who have so much money it doesn’t matter.  Christina Hendricks will play a new servant on the estate who is not who she appears to be.
MON- STER IN LAW TO BECOME SITCOM
Meanwhile, Fox will produce a sitcom based on Jane Fonda's and Jennifer Lopez' MONSTER IN LAW movie which will follow a happy couple about to embark on the challenge of parenthood, with the story set against the fraught relationship between the wife and her husband's mother.

  LAVISH ROYAL CORONATION
IN THE NEW EPISODE OF 'REIGN'
Now, we've seen Mary and Francis taking over the rule over France at the start of the second season of CW's popular historical series REIGN, but we haven't yet seen the official coronation! The crowning will happen in the fourth episode in which, with France in a state of famine, as well as religious and political unrest, Mary (Adelaide Kane) looks for a way to feed the people, risking the wrath of a vengeful Lord Narcisse (Craig Parker). Francis (Toby Regbo) is preoccupied by the harrowing suspicion that his dead father’s spirit can possess the living and is haunting Francis as revenge for his murder. As Catherine (Megan Follows) makes excessive and lavish preparations for a coronation ceremony to give the impression of stability to the realm, Bash (Torrance Coombs) confronts the reality of a country plagued by fear, bankruptcy, and murder.

THE LAVISH GOWNS
The royal coronation episode will show us a sumptuous wardrobe of rich fabrics, over-the-top crowns, exquisite jewelry, and fashion forward clothing! As EW reports, Mary's coronation gown made from gold embroidered burgundy brocade with a very long train took 12 yards of fabric, six seamstresses and designers and two weeks to finish! Francis is wearing a vest from the same brocade. Mary will also wear an ornate golden crown and extravagant oxidized, gold-plated Swarovski crystal chandelier earrings! The old queen Catherine will wear Oscar de la Renta ruby necklace! It is interesting that most of the costumes and jewellery seen in the show are taken from the collections of contemporary designers.
