'CROOKED HOUSE' POSTER
NEW AGATHA CHRISTIE MYSTERY
Two new posters to end the week, starting with the new one for British period set thriller CROOKED HOUSE based on a novel by Agatha Christie. Set to
premiere on TV in UK this Sunday and already on VOD in USA, it was written by Downton Abbey's Julian Fellowes and has Glenn Close, Christina Hendricks, Max Irons, Terence Stamp, Julian Sands in the stellar cast.
Crooked House is Agatha's weirdest novel |
Based on the novel by Agatha Christie, which she herself loved most,
it follows private detective Charles Hayward (Max Irons) who is invited
to solve a gruesome crime where nobody is above suspicion, including
Sophia (Stefanie Martini), his client and former lover. She is an
engaged woman who holds off on marriage until the identity of the person
who poisoned her grandfather is found.
'PHANTOM THREAD' POSTER
DANIEL DAY LEWIS' LAST MOVIE
A new poster has also been released for dramatic biopic PHANTOM THREAD, Daniel Day Lewis' final movie (at least he says so) which
should
walk into cinemas next February in UK, December in USA, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
This is Daniel Day Lewis' last movie ever! |
PHANTOM THREAD is set in 1950s postwar London and follows Woodcock
(Daniel Day Lewis), who with his sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) is at
the centre of British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses,
socialites, débutantes and dames. Women come and go through Woodcock’s
life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and
companionship, until he comes across Alma (Vicky Krieps), who soon
becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and
planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love.
These both sound good! I'm not sure how long Daniel Day-Lewis' retirement will last either -- I'm sure he'll be coaxed back once again by the "right" movie, one he cannot resist making.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched his movies a lot,so I can't say I'm overly bothered :) I'm sure they will give him an Oscar for this one and he will then feel obliged to return yadda yadda yadda...
DeleteIf I had a dollar for every actor that said "this is it" I'd be one rich lady. They are all addicted to the spotlight and once it starts to fade, they find a way to make a comeback.
ReplyDeletemoney is too tasty a treat, methinks
DeleteBoth look good. Haven't read the Christie book- but I am curious because of the cast and that it was her favorite of her books. Interesting.
