Must admit I almost forgot about this one, but it starts airing on Fox Sunday January 21st and then continues its life on Monday evenings. As you know, the spy does not usually do medical drama, but this one THE RESIDENT, does have our favourite boys, always lovely Manish Dayal, and always charismatic Matt Czuchry, in a powerful new medical drama focusing on the final years of a young doctor’s training that rips back the curtain to reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across America.
THE STORY OF THE RESIDENT
revolves around an idealistic young doctor
Devon Pravesh (played by always delightful Manish Dayal whom you fell in
love with in A 100 Foot Journey
Manish Dayal is young Doctor Devon Pravesh
and Viceroy's House) who begins his
first day under the supervision of a tough, brilliant senior resident
Conrad Hawkins (played by Gilmore Girls
Matt Czuchry is senior resident Conrad Hawkins
superstar Matt Czuchry) who
pulls the curtain back on all of the good and evil in modern day
medicine. Lives may be saved or lost, but expectations will
Emily VanCamp is Nurse Nicolette
always be
shattered. Bruce Greenwood plays Dr Soloman the head of their hospital
with Melina Kanakaredes as Dr. Lane Hunter and Emily
It premieres after NFC Championship and then moves to Monday nights
VanCamp as Nurse
Nicolette! Written by Amy Holden Jones (Black Box), Hayley Schore, and
Roshan Sethi the series had its pilot directed by movie director Philip Noyce!
I don't like medical dramas either, but ever since you told us about The Resident, I have been looking forward to seeing it. It does sound like one that I will enjoy quite well.
it could be especially interesting to you and me, as they will be showing all the bad sides of health system and hospitals, and don't we know all their bad sides, ourselves? :) I'm extremely sensitive to doctors being unprofessional and irresponsible, them and teachers and judges.
I am sure you and I will be nodding our head in agreement with the horrible stories told through this show. I was just having a conversation with Jason just last night on why I loathe going to the doctor and dentist. He doesn't understand my mistrust because he hasn't had to deal with the shit I've gone through for almost 15 years with unprofessional health care providers.
GIVE SOME LOVE TO YOUR DEZZY :) DON'T FORGET THAT BLOGGER'S NEW COMMENT BOX OFTEN REQUIRES FOR YOU TO DISABLE PROTECTION ON YOUR BROWSER IN ORDER TO COMMENT.
Hi Dezzy!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and Season's Greeting. Whatever, you celebrate may it be joyous!
Thanks for dropping by, wishing happy holidays to you as well, as you can see we have already decked the spy's halls!
DeleteYes, it is very festive with those green balls.
Deleteindeed
DeleteBruce Greenwood and Emily VanCamp are both Canadian actors. Just touting my country!
ReplyDeleteI did not know! I'd sooner think Matt was Canadian as he's hot :)
