The movie will hit Russian cinemas next February
Shooting currently around  St. Petersburg and scheduled for cinematic premiere in mother Russia in February 2025 is historical musical movie PROPHET: THE STORY OF ALEXANDER PUSHKIN (Пророк. История Александра Пушкина) in which the role of the legendary poet in different years of his life is played by Yura Borisov in older age and Kai Goetz in youth.   WHAT IS THE NEW MOVIE ABOUT?
This is the life story of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin from his lyceum days to the fatal duel. In the film, Pushkin will appear as a modern and multifaceted hero, in whom the dark and terrible fights with the light and enlightened.
 WHO IS IN THE CAST?
The cast of the movie directed by Felix Umarov also includes French actor Florian Desbiendras as Georges Dantes, Ilya Vinogorsky as Ivan Pushchin, Anna Chipovskaya in the role of Countess Elizaveta Vorontsova, Ilya Lyubimov as Vasily Zhukovsky, Evgeny Schwartz as his imperial highness Emperor Nicholas I and Sergei Gilev as Alexander Benckendorff.

  1. I am not into poet, so don't know about Alexander Pushkin. I like certain kind of musical movies, like Hair and Grease, not sure I would enjoy this one though. My husband is watching an American science fiction comedy Resident Alien.

Deary, Pushkin did not write just poem, he is the author of almost all of the Russian legendary folk tales, such as Ruslan and Lyudmila and also of legendary stories such as The Queen of Spades, and novel Captain's Daughter, and one of world's most famous plays Boris Godunov. Not to mention Eugene Onegin.

  2. The poster has a magical feel to it. I'm very much drawn to it. If this were a book, I'd immediately put it in my cart for the cover alone. I'm not much into musicals, but if this were available here, I'd probably watch it.
