Prime Video has just dropped the first trailer for their romantic movie adaptation of Robinne Lee's THE IDEA OF YOU which will hit streaming May 2nd starring Anne Hathaway as forty something woman called Solène, whose husband (Reid Scott) walks out on the marriage just when the couple’s 16-year-old daughter (Ella Rubin) has her heart set on attending the Coachella music fest. Mom steps in to save the day and the trip. At the fest, Solène meets Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), a Harry Styles-type pop star. Sparks fly even though she is twenty years plus older than him.
As a 40something woman, I just couldn't ever see myself having a romp with someone my own child's age, but more power to the women who can. I'm more of a silver fox lady myself.
I don't think it is more power to them, if a forty something man seduced a girl like that he would be a pedo or something. I don't like it, but won't judge too much as I do believe star crossed lovers can sometime meets in people of very different age, but this is just tasteless to me because it is a teen star, kinda like older women wanting to groom their daughter's boyband idols. Just seems creepy to me.
But men have been doing that for ages, I think women are finally catching on that they can do it too. I think it's just ick in any gender, but like you said, soul mates can find each other in any age, I suppose. But a boy band member? EW. She's scraping the bottom of the barrel there LOL
I find it disgusting because it means all the older ladies who follow teen boybands and singers actually want to seduce them, it is creepy. It is as if you would have sixty year old men liking Taylor Swift because they want to shag her, it is just creepy but it seems it is allowed for women, but not for men, while it should not be allowed to anyone.
I'm sure there are plenty of 60 year old men who want to shag her. And I'm sure there are a lot of 60 year old women who want to shag Harry Styles. It's creepy and gross. I look at the boys that my girls have been friends with, and there is nothing that could possibly attract me to any of them on any kind of level. If I say "he's cute!" As a mother I mean, awe, he's so cute! Not, woah, mama! He's so cute I'll be seeing him in my dreams later. Even 30 year olds I want to mother them, not date them LMAO! Can you imagine being with someone you could have fed a bottle to while you were already out of school and working?
It is creepy because they present it as something empowering, most of the comments will be good for her, bravo lady, imagine if you had a son and he was seduced by some nasty cougar who has her life fallen apart and is trying to cure herself with a little bit of fresh meat in the form of your inexperienced, young son. See how it immediately sounds creepy? I do understand that sometimes it just happens and you cannot choose whom you fall in love with, but this is like a systematic support to cougars the way they present it, like come on ladies let us go hunting for some young cocks because the old ones don't want us.... just creepy and nasty to me.
