BBC WW2 JIM STURGESS DRAMA
Another period set drama coming from BBC and Acorn TV in USA, ready to air later this year is CLOSE TO THE ENEMY! Seven part series will star Jim Sturgess, Alfie Allen, Alfred Molina, Angela Bassett and Freddie Highmore in a story set in a bombed London hotel in the aftermath of WWII following intelligence officer Captain Callum Ferguson (Sturgess) whose last task for the Army is to ensure that a captured German scientist, Dieter urgently starts working for the British RAF to develop the jet engine. Callum uses unorthodox methods in his attempt to convince Dieter and the two form a friendship. But tensions soon arise, as all is not as it seems.
"Close to the Enemy" sounds good. I seem to be on a big WW2 kick right now. Can't get enough of that era and its stories and history.
ReplyDeletethere are quite a lot of series covering that period and WW1 too
DeleteBecause I love history, I always like to give things like this a chance. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeletethat is my rule too, Pat, hope you're doing fine!
DeleteClose to the Enemy I'll look forward to!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes think it could be fun working in a hotel, if not a very cheap one :)
DeleteI don't have the patience for dealing with the public and who knows what kind of nasties come into a hotel. I couldn't work in one!
Deletebut it would be fun spying on celebs and rich peoples whilst shagging the lift-boy and and concierge when nobody is looking and enjoying the chef's five stars dishes :)
DeleteLet me guess... spy cams?
DeleteHello Theresa.
we have spy cams installed? I did not get the memo....
DeleteThe 5 star dishes I can get behind. I'll opt out of maid service because I don't want no cooties the guests leave behind in their shagging of the lift-boy ;)
DeleteHi Blue!
'Remember, remember the 5th of November, the gunpowder, treason and plot?' My mind immediately goes to V for Vendetta when hearing that line. Loved that movie.
ReplyDeletehaven't seen it, but I do remember it! It has become a motto of vigilantes over the time :)
DeleteIf Kit Harrington is in a series, I'll definitely watch it, haha!
ReplyDelete-Kati
of course you will!
