DC FINDS THEIR TV HAWKMAN IN FALK HENTSCHEL! WARNER BROS TO DEVELOP NEW 'DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS' MOVIE! DELIGHTFUL NEW 'DRESSMAKER' TRAILER WITH KATE WINSLET, LIAM HEMSWORTH

FALK HENTSCHEL IS
 DC'S TELEVISION 'HAWKMAN'
In TV news, DC has found their actor for the character of Hawkman who will first appear in CW's shows THE FLASH and ARROW before becoming a regular superhero in their new series LEGENDS OF TOMORROW in the winter midseason. Gorgeous Falk Hentschel (who starred in STREET DANCE, AGENTS OF SHIELD and worked as Mariah Carey's dancer) will play the winged hero, a reincarnation of an Egyptian emperor, who has lived on for centuries alongside his ladylove Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée). Hawkman is capable of sprouting wings by tapping into the power of the ancient hawk god Horus. As I reported before LEGENDS OF TOMORROW will unite a number of superheroes from the other two shows and some new ones who will together battle common enemies. Wentworth Miller, Brandon Routh and Dominic Purcel also star.

'DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS'
RETURNING TO THE BIG SCREENS
After WARCRAFT, which is arriving into theatres next summer, it seems another hugely popular fantasy world game will be turned into a movie. Hasbro and Warner Bros. will turn DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS into a huge epic movie. With the script already written by RED RIDING HOOD and WRATH OF THE TITANS' David Leslie Johnson (can't believe he is still working after those two writing atrocities), the movie is slated for 2019 release! Some fifteen years ago New Line made an unsuccessful movie out of it which spawned tons of DVD sequels. That one was set in the empire of Izmer populated by mages, magic users, empresses, dragons, dwarves and elves.

NEW 'DRESSMAKER' TRAILER
WITH KATE WINSLET, LIAM HEMSWORTH, HUGO WEAVING
Second, delightful international trailer has been released for lovely Australian movie THE DRESSMAKER with Kate Winslet, Judi Davis, Liam Hemsworth and Hugo Weaving.  Based on Rosalie Ham bestselling novel of the same name, the movie will see Kate Winslet playing the 1950s Australian fashion designer Tilly Dunnage who goes back to her rural hometown to care for her sick mother, but rumours of her involvement in the death of a young boy threaten to ruin her return. With her sewing machine and haute couture style, she transforms the women and exacts sweet revenge on those who did her wrong. The movie is first out in Australian cinemas this October!

  2. I would kill for a decent Dungeons & Dragons movie, but so far all we've been offered is crap written by people who clearly have no love for the world. There's so much potential there . . .

    1. They could turn both that and WARCRAFT into new LORD OF THE RINGS saga

  3. D&D is notable for being one of the earliest known "nerdy" things to do. I see that made 3 movies already with the first being the most notable and being a flop.

    1. I think I liked the first one too, I mean not taking it too seriously, except that I hated the choice of Tora Birch as Empress... I mean she is the total opposite of an empress.....

  8. Dungeons & Dragons was popular when *I* was a kid! I knew a lot of kids who were into it. Hollywood knows gamers and comic book fans are HUGE moviegoers...they finally found a way to capitalize on that, looks like. (Besides having bonehead actors star in movies called Demolition Man and Terminator!)
