JAMES MCAVOY JOINS
DANIEL RADCLIFFE IN 'FRANKENSTEIN'
We shall have a Frankenstein day today at HOLLYWOOD SPY, people, in honour of the latest info coming from "Deadline": British star James McAvoy has taken the lead role in
DEZZY'S LITERATURE CLASS
Did you know that FRANKENSTEIN is actually a creation of a teen girl?
Mary Shelley, who wrote the novel in 1818 in London, was only 19 when
she started writing it and 21 when it was published for the first time
anonymously. She came up with the book when she, her husband famous
poet Percy Shelley and their friend Lord Byron, decided to compete who
will make a better horror story. The story then appeared to her in a
dream. It is also considered one of the first sf novels ever! Both
Shelley's and Byron's publishers have originally refused to publish the
book!

'I, FRANKENSTEIN' EPIC SF
AARON ECKHART & BILL NIGHY

FRANKIE TIDBITS
The film, which was shot over in Australia, and is produced by the UNDERWORLD producers is actually an adaptation of a graphic novel. Both Aaron Eckhart and Miranda Otto practised martial arts for three months for this movie. Bill Nighy loves playing evil demons, since in UNDERWORLD he already played a Vampire king!

it will be interesting, but I have to say I'm disappointed it strayed far off the book.
ReplyDeletewe still don't know how far it will stray off the book. We must wait for the first trailer
DeleteAnd now here's Debra's History Class! Mary Shelley was the daughter of famous English radicals William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft (one of the first feminists). She was a wild child and ran off with Percy Shelley. Some scholars think he actually wrote Frankenstein because Mary Shelley never wrote anything of note again in her entire life. If she was indeed the author, she was a one-hit wonder!
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting!
Deleteyep, I knew that she was the daughter of a philosopher and a feminist, but that would've been TMI for the post :)
DeleteShe did write a lot of books after FRANKENSTEIN and it is interesting that she had not only the first sf book but also one of the first apocalyptic books THE LAST something :)
I do like the sound of I,Frankenstein better but that's just me!
ReplyDeletehope we get a trailer soon, Fran!
DeleteI, Frankenstein sounds amazing - let' hope they can pull it off!
ReplyDeletefingers and claws crossed :)
DeleteI, Frankenstein does sound rather good!!!!
ReplyDeleteglad you think so, Ray!
DeleteFrankenstein is a very monotonous read, in my opinion. But it was a fantastic premise for a story, one that keeps being reborn in new ways. That's impressive.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love the idea of Bill NIghy as a demon prince!! Brilliant! :)
In mine too :)
DeleteBill Nighy is a natural born devil :)
Interesting info about the publishing of FRANKENSTEIN.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like James McAvoy, so I shall keep an eye out for its release Down Under :)
we like McAvoy too, he is so very special!
DeleteI am very excited to see both of these...and to see what they do with the story! I'm not so much a Daniel Radcliffe fan, but I am totally digging the casting of him as Igor!
ReplyDeleteAlso, in a funny coincidence today...when I was out and about today I had the car radio on and the DJ was actually talking about the McAvoy/Radcliffe film! Crazy!
I wonder if he will be a hunchback as Igor?
DeleteWas the DJ quoting HOLLYWOOD SPY? :pppp
You know, he didn't say, but it WAS after you published, so I am gonna say quite possibly!!
Deletethey always steal material from moi.....
DeleteIsn't that the biggest compliment??
Deleteyou know, I've discovered at least ten other blogs which actually copy/paste all the material from HOLLYWOOD SPY, and I mean 100% total rip/off! You have people who have tens of blogs like that earning Google Ads money by stealing other people blogs.
DeleteDaniel Radcliffe as Igor - that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteShould be good
DeleteYvonne Strahovski, period!
ReplyDeleteI knew you would notice her name :)
Deleteshe is my favorite... behind my wife of course.
Deleteshe was Henry Cavill's fave too, for a week when they had that fling of theirs :)
DeleteI like the idea for the first Frankenstein best, with McAvoy, but the second one sounds fun, too.
ReplyDeletehope we get two fun films :)
DeleteI can't say I was a huge fan of the book, but I do like McAvoy, so I will probably add this to my must see list.
ReplyDeletehe's a great actor, isn't he?
