FIRST PICTURES FROM
'BELLE' STAR STUDDED PERIOD DRAMA MOVIE
Today, you can also check out the first pictures from the period set drama BELLE which should open up in theatres sometime next year. The movie, which fillows the trials and tribulations of a mixed-race girl from the 18th century, has a rather stellar cast filled with stars: Gugu Mbatha-Raw is in the lead role joined by Miranda Richardson, Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, Sarah Gadon, Tom Felton and two British hunks Sam Reid and Matthew Goode. BELLE is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral. Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson), Belle's lineage affords her certain privileges, yet the color of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the traditions of her social standing. Left to wonder if she will ever find love, Belle falls for an idealistic young vicar's son bent on change who, with her help, shapes Lord Mansfield's role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England.

Can't wait to see Fleming - from what I know of his life, it should be interesting.
ReplyDeletethey say he was a playboy, a gambler, a spy :)
DeleteI like the concept of Belle
ReplyDeletehope we get a trailer some time soon!
DeleteI watched a movie recently with Jason Connery as Fleming, series could be good!
ReplyDeleteyep, I remember that one, Fran. Wonder where Jason disappeared....
DeleteIan Fleming sure knew how to live. Real life James Bond. No wonder his writing was so good (at least I liked it).
ReplyDeleteYep, he pretty much wrote books about himself :)
DeleteFlemming sounds like a very interesting character. It will probably be a good movie!
ReplyDeleteshould be a good one, Sherry :)
DeleteLots of good (and good looking) projects today. I like the sound of Belle. Lots of potential tension in that one. And who doesn't like playboy gambler spy writers?
ReplyDeletebut it is sad, though, that a day with the news like these ones, usually brings me the smallest amount of visits and readers :(
DeleteHope we get BELLE trailer soon
Dominic Cooper as Ian Fleming? Looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteindeed it does
DeleteWow. Manish Dayal is very handsome!
ReplyDeleteisn't he just? :)
Deletenow that show fleming is something i could enjoy.
ReplyDeleteglad you could, glad you could, J-man!
DeleteLove to see Belle and The Fleming series, the Hallstrom film, maybe. I'm not into flicks about restaurants.
ReplyDeleteoh, but I am, food films are my absolute fave :) Especially with such a lovely cast.
DeleteI'd be interested in seeing the story of Fleming. To think he lived what he wrote is pretty exciting.
ReplyDeleteI've got to admit, I've never been a vampire hunter. grin.
yep, some guys really have exciting lives :)
DeleteI have actually read Fleming books on James Bond. Its fascinating to read about the writer's life ~ Belle looks very interesting too ~ Thanks Dezzy ~
ReplyDeletebe welcome, Grace, glad you enjoyed today's offer.
Deleteoh, I like that Lasse Hallstrom will be directing THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY.
ReplyDeleteI adore it too, love him so so much! Hope you managed to see his last film SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN, which is in my top ten all times favourite now :)
DeleteThe Hundred Foot journey should be excellent and I think Belle will be good as well. I've not thought much about how a person of colour would fare in high society. She has the right clothes, but not the right skin colour.
ReplyDeleteNow Fleming, I've high hopes for that one.
I'm extremely excited about THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY, you know how much I adore cooking movies especially with that director and that cast!
DeleteI've always thought the real story about Cmdr Ian Fleming was as exciting and interesting as anything he created for his James Bond character. As an intelligence officer and spymaster himself with MI6 during the war and after it, he drew heavily on his experiences to write 'Bond'. Truth is always more interesting than fiction and Fleming's story - if done accurately - promises to be a real cracker!
ReplyDeletehe did have an exciting life, not like other writers who write about what they wish it could/would be :)
