RISE OF THE RAVEN
FIRST WILDLY EPIC TRAILER IS HERE!
Beta has announced that one of the most epic European productions of all times, historical series RISE OF TH RAVEN will have its world premiere October 22nd at this year's Mipcom in Cannes and they have released a wildly gorgeous trailer to celebrate it! The series
will air next year.
THIS TEN PART SERIES EPIC TV SERIES
depicts the extraordinary real-life feat of
Hungarian army commander Janos Hunyadi (Gellért L. Kádár), who turned
back the tide of the Ottoman Empire’s seemingly unstoppable advance into
Europe when back in 1456 he won a bloody Battle of Belgrade against a
vast Ottoman force twice the size of his troops who were sometimes armed
with just slings and patriotic fervor. To this very day church bells
ring every day at noon in honour of this victory. Franciska Törőcsik
plays his first love Mara, Serbian princess, who had to marry Ottoman
Sultan Murad (Murathan Muslu) in order to protect her people.
I know, I will see it. It's a question of where and when.
ReplyDeleteHope some big streamer buys it, would be a waste not to. But I already see they depicted our Despina Mara wrongly. She was not some flimsy little lost tart, she was religious, chaste and one of the most powerful female figures the Ottoman empire ever had. Even after she left Constantinople when Mehmed conqured it, she had her court in Jezhevo where thousands upon thousands came for many years seeking help from her or her wisdom. She nearly became a Byzantine empress too later on.
DeleteThis looks so good. I'm looking forward to watching this.
ReplyDeleteHope someone buys it in your country for airing. They will be selling it at Mipcom in October.
DeleteWow. You know, it wasn't until I watched the making of videos for the Lord of the Rings films that I appreciate how hard it could be to gather so many horses in one place.
ReplyDeleteAnd not just any horses, but trained ones. It is also extremely difficult getting costumes, because epic projects often require thousands of them, so they rent them or buy them abroad too for extras. It is also the same with weapons, the studios often use the same weapons for different projects. I remember that GOT throne was made from swords from Last Kingdom series.
DeleteGoodness, I would watch that just to look at him.
ReplyDeleteIt does look very gorgeous.
DeleteBrutal and sexy at the same time. I hope one of our streamers picks this up. I wasn't sure if this was going to be for me, but I was entranced through the whole trailer.
ReplyDeleteIt does look exciting, I just hope the historical inaccuracies won't bother me much.
