PRINCE ANDREY
EPIC TV SERIES STARTS PRODUCTION
As Russian Kino-teatr reports, a production has started this summer on new historical TV series PRINCE ANDREY (Князь Андрей ) which will delve deeper into their past going all the way back to the 12th century. Alexander Golubev takes the lead role with Alexander Baluyev, Sergey Bezrukov, Alexander Ustyugov, Aglaya Shilovskaya, Boris Kamorzin, Polina Chernyshova, Artem Tkachenko and Stanislav Lyubshinand also starring in the epic series that will air on Russian national broadcaster. Although not one of the most famous of their historical figures, Andrey was loved by the people and was proclaimed a saint later on.
THE SERIES IS SET IN 12TH CENTURY RUSSIA
It
was a period of the brutal internal struggle between the princes from
the family of Rurikovich. The young prince Andrey Bogolyubsky, the son
of Yuri Dolgoruky and the grandson of Vladimir Monomakh, returns home
from Byzantium, where he spent several years. His dream is to reign in
his native Suzdal land, turning it into a new prosperous center of all
Russia. However, the powerful father of Andrey, experienced Yuri
Dolgoruky sees in his son only a submissive performer of his will, and
the heir to the Grand Duke's throne decides to revolt - declares himself
an independent ruler. At first, all his plans are quickly implemented:
the architects invited from Byzantium and Europe build white stone
churches, fortresses and even new cities in the Suzdal principality,
strongholds and entire new cities, Orthodox religion is strengthening
and trade flourishes. But, becoming the most powerful ruler of Russia,
Prince Andrey has also gained equally powerful enemies who weave around
him a web of betrayals, conspiracies and intrigues.
Great costumes. Glad we don't have to wear stuff like that now.
ReplyDeleteArmour is a no, but I would not mind wearing a cape!
DeleteA cape would be fun. I'd like to wear some of the cute dresses, minus the lung and tummy crushing corsets. Then again, my muffin top wouldn't look good without the body strangulation in one of those dresses, so maybe I'm suited for the time that I live in where I can toss on leggings and an oversized sweater and call it good.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't wear them leggings in public, deary, I get hives from Americans wearing leggings and jimjams in public, da hell are they thinking? I have noticed that modern younglings have no style whatsoever and actually strive to look like hobos or sluts, so my eyes feel permanently damaged and offended by such atrocities. The current fugly mix of 80s meets grunge is something that turns my stomach on a daily basis.
DeleteI don't do jammies in public, but I am totally wearing my leggings in public in the autumn/winter months. Butt covered with a sweater or longer shirt, of course. Summer I usually only wear dresses. Americans are thinking more comfort than style as we have that stupid mindset of work yourself to death whereas the Europeans know that life is more than work and take time off to be fashionable and go places where nice clothing can be appreciated. I just went through my closet and rid it of a lot of jeans too. I'm too old to give a hoot if I look acceptable to strangers if it sacrifices my comfort anymore. I will not entertain the 80's grunge look that is popular these days. Those stupid overly wide pants that look like they could double as parachutes as well are coming back too and I'm like ugh!
DeleteI think Europeans just have more selfrespect, it is important to us how we look, not in a superficial way but in a way that through your clothes you show respect to yourself and especially towards the other ones around you, while Americans don't give an eff about it. I am all for comfort, but it is selfish. Like why would you wear bum exposing hot pants around, well, because it is empowering and nobody should tell me what to wear, but see, that is exactly what makes this new society so selfish and self/centred, caring only about oneself, da eff do I need to show my bum to gents and ladies and kids around me? You sex up in front of your partner or when you go out hunting, no need to parade all slutty in the middle of the day, or looking like a hobo or a goth, it all shows your unrediness to be the part of the society and look decent. It is like coming to a meeting in a tracksuit. It shows disrespect.
DeleteUnless I'm at home I usually wear leggings only under long skirts or trousers as an extra layer in cold weather.
ReplyDeleteYep, but not as the only item of clothing like some women these days.
