BAZ LUHRMANN PREPARING
A JOAN OF ARC EPIC HISTORICAL SPECTACLE
Well, most of his movies are spectacles, right, so why not do a historical one again after Australia? According to Deadline, the director of Moulin Rouge
Baz Luhrmann is currently preparing a new project and it will be his own take on the famous historical story of Joan of Arc titled JEHANNE D'ARC. Luhrmann and Warner Bros are as of today searching for a teenage girl to play the young French peasant who believed God had sent her to lead an army. She believed she would save her country during the Hundred Years’ War. It will be the ultimate teenage girl coming of age story, set in the Hundred Years’ War in the 15th century.
The casting call has been released for the lead role |
Australia was anything BUT historical. I dread to think what Luhrman would do with not only a calendar saint but a symbol of France.
ReplyDeleteGiven how terrible he has become in choosing leads, I am afraid he will cast some Kristen Stuart type of a wooden nobody.
DeleteWell hopefully they find someone who fits the part.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed, but I am kinda afraid they will do the opposite LOL
DeleteIt will be interesting to see who they choose for the lead. Hopefully someone with a little talent, but I find most teenage actresses don't possess much talent these days. I'm sure she'll be pretty to look at though as that's all they seem to care about anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt will probably be a debacle.
