    2. Did you ever see The Love Saga? I used to sit for hours with my grandma watching this on Sunday while the gravy was on the stove. She groomed me to love the cheesiness!!

  3. You know I am a sucker for holiday movies, and like Jax said, the cheesier the better! Starting November 1, I will be all over them, but right now I am focusing on my Halloween flicks, so Christmas isn't on my radar yet.

    2. Not yet. I've been uber busy this past week, but I was planning on taking Allison maybe on Thursday after school. We're headed to Chicago this weekend for haunted houses and I'm trying to convince her to bring along her little foreign exchange student friend (He's from Spain). His host family is concerned he's not going out with friends, so he's not really getting the "American Experience" that he signed up for. Apparently he's painfully shy and the kids at school think he's weird because he doesn't talk hardly ever. Allison's slowly getting him to come out of his shell though, so we'll see if he wants to tag along.

    3. Poor boy, he probably does not speak language well and find you people over there weird :))) The scary house would probably scare him even more LOL

    4. Well, he readily agreed to the haunted house. I guess he loves them. His English isn't so good, but she's getting him to talk more. I mean, that's kind of the whole point of him being here - to learn the culture and to improve on his English speaking skills. I'm not sure if he finds us weird, but he does like to get mad and say "Stupid Americans" a lot lol. Probably not the smartest thing to do in a country you are a guest in, but luckily he hasn't said it to the wrong person yet. We also invited him to our Friendsgiving (since we had the Swede last year) and he's looking forward to that next month. We'll have him going back to Spain an honorary Fat, Stupid American in no time LMAO!

    5. The Swede will actually be here this Sunday for fall break. I believe he's only staying for a week, so sadly he won't be here for Friendsgiving again. Ashlynne (his girlfriend) will then be going there for Christmas holidays. Lots of back and forth, so I told Allison to learn from them and not get too attached to this Spanish boy since he'll be gone come June and I'm sure as hell not sending her off to Spain for summer and Christmas visits!

    6. The Swede got a gurlfriend there? :) Allis has hots for the Spaniard? Where do these kids find all those programmes? I wish we had student exchange when me was a pupil! But they never get the kids from us poor countries.

    7. Idk if Allison has the hots for Spaniard, but she did break up with her boyfriend a month ago and has been talking about "Aran" nonstop since then.

I believe it's awfully expensive for them to join the exchange programs, so sadly, those in poorer countries simply cannot afford it. They not only pay the service fee, but have to pay for all of their necessities while here too (except lodging and meals at home, which the host family volunteers to pay for), then they are expected to have at least $150 per month in spending money on top of that. The lady next door hosted for years, always picking the Asian students. I remember one that stayed here had his own chauffeur and butler back home. The Swede's family owns multiple homes there too, so it's definitely a program for the privileged countries, unfortunately.

    8. Oh, noes, so we is not having a gay boxer for a son in law?

    9. Bwhahaha! No. But she can have him for a friend if she wants. Ain't no ring hitting her finger there.
