FIRST TRAILER REVEALED FOR
PERSONAL HISTORY OF DAVID COPPERFIELD WITH DEV PATEL
|
David Copperfield is out next January in UK |
In the video department we have the first trailer for period set drama
THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF DAVID COPPERFIELD starring
Dev Patel, Hugh Laurie, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Aneurin Barnard, and based on the famous novel by
Charles Dickens. Out next January in UK, the story of this period set movie follows titular character David Copperfield in the 1840's as he navigates a chaotic world to find his elusive place within it. From his unhappy childhood to the discovery of his gift as a storyteller and writer, all the while on a journey full of life, colour and humanity. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!
How fun and quirky does David Copperfield look!? I thought it would be a serious film, but I love the little humorous bits throughout the trailer.
ReplyDeleteI did not expect it to be humorous myself. Woohoo, we've just crossed 7,600,000 visitors!
DeleteWay to go, Dezzy! It's cause you are the best!
DeleteIt is possible you was the 7,600,000th visitor as it happened last night :)
DeleteI'll take my prize in chocolate then, thanks ;)
DeleteHooray!
DeleteI really liked the novel, I will definitely watch this, great cast, too ☺
ReplyDeleteI can't for the life of me remember if I read it even though I have it :)
DeleteEep! "Unnatural creatures that feast on human flesh". Is this going to be a twist on a zombie show or is this a different creature all together?
ReplyDeleteI was never a fan of Charles Dickens books, but the trailer is engaging.
I like him because he is the only of the British classics that isn't pathetic or superficial.
DeleteI don't remember the novel "David Copperfield" being a comedy. So the trailer for this film version makes me go hmmmm. And my gawd, that horrible haircut on Ben Whishaw! Gag!
ReplyDeleteI don't either, Debs! I think the Italian director wanted to be unique, but it just looks weird, especially with all the multiracial agenda in that period setting.
DeleteColourblind casting does not bother me at all. Dev Patel is a good actor and deserves to play whatever roles are on offer.
DeleteThat is ignorant towards the writer and the period setting. That means that I can play the maharaja of India or that you can play the queen of Africa :) If you put a black man to play Zeus it also means that Alfie Alen can play Shaka Zulu.
