STEAMY 'LEGEND OF TARZAN' PHOTOS WITH ALEXANDER SKARSGARD, MARGOT ROBBIE! STEVEN SPIELBERG'S 'THE BIG FRIENDLY GIANT' TRAILER! TOM CRUISE, SOFIA BOUTELLA FOR 'MUMMY' REBOOT?

 'THE LEGEND OF TARZAN'
STEAMY PHOTOS WITH ALEXANDER SKARSGARD AND MARGOT ROBBIE
Epic adventures for you today, people, starting with sizzling hot muscles from that Scandinavian God Alexander Skarsgard in the first photos from next July's THE LEGEND OF TARZAN which also show gorgeous Margot Robbie as the blond new Jane! David Yates is directing the latest adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough's novel! With Christoph Waltz playing the main villain Captain Rom, the rest of the cast also includes Djimon Hounsou, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Hurt! The movie will see Tarzan living in the civilized society of the 19th century Victorian London, far away from the jungle in which he was raised by apes. He is now rich nobleman Lord Greystoke married to Jane. When he gets invited back to the jungle as the emissary of Parliament he steps back into the world of the Congo, where he reunites with old friends. He soon finds that he and Jane are in danger.

DEZZY'S HISTORY LESSON
With Captain Rom being Belgian, the movie will have a historical side too, since Belgian kind Leopold II, one of the greatest villains the world has ever seen, launched a shockingly brutal genocide of millions of black people after he conquered the Congo as his own colony in the 1880s! He also left millions of people maimed with their hands cut off.

 'THE MUMMY' REBOOT
TOM CRUISE AND SOFIA BOUTELLA TO TAKE LEAD ROLES?
And Universal is continuing their Monster Franchise which was started with Luke Evans' DRACULA UNTOLD, with the reboot of THE MUMMY. The latest word is that they want Sofia Boutella, Gazelle from KINGSMAN movie, to play the title character of THE MUMMY making it this time a female monster. The reboot which is to be set in modern times apparently also wants Tom Cruise in the lead male role. Alex Kurtzman is directing.

 'THE BFG' TEASER TRAILER
NEVER GET OUT OF BED!
Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg has released the first teaser trailer for his big screen adaptation of THE BFG (Big Friendly Giant) based on Roald Dahl's classic story. Out next July, the movie follows a young girl who, one faithful night, befriends a big friendly giant (voiced by Mark Rylance).

  1. Tarzan as a white actor? That's racist.

    1. or maybe you are just misinformed? He wasn't born in Congo, he is British Lord Greystoke who was just raised in jungle after his parents died.

  2. Mark Rylance is starting to get some good movie work, isn't he? The TV series "Wolf Hall" was a major move for him from the stage to the screen. I know you thought "Wolf Hall" was dull and slow, Dezzy, but I enjoyed it!

    1. yes, overly dull :) I stopped at the third episode, methinks. He himself was nice, though.

  3. The Mummy...am I right that they did that one in the 90s? With The Rock? For some reason it's weird for Tom Cruise to star in it when he wasn't asked the first time around...I don't know why! Maybe he WAS asked the first time around and he turned them down? I can't imagine Brendan Fraser was ever first choice over Tom Cruise!

    1. Not with Rock, he did SCORPION KING :), but with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. Brendan was the perfect choice, made that saga so popular... probably the best adventure movie ever made. Too bad Stephen Sommers isn't directing much again, those first two movies were flawless, old school Hollywood, made with love

  4. How many times has The Mummy and Tarzan been remade? But the remakes look good. Leopold II was appalling.

  5. Grace from Beyond the Trailer struck again. Saw the BFG trailer this morning and her sharp wit review. Personally I have been interested in seeing this film and excited to see Spielberg directing a fun film I can just sit back and watch.

That King Leopold II was a dick! Well monster, I mean chopping off the hands of millions of people? Good God! He was not a top topic in Jamaica's history class. Yeah that sounds were more of a story than this Tarzan business.

Okay I'll wait for some reviews for this maybe reboot of The Mummy before I dare think of going to see this.

    1. Leopold hasn't been taught in any Western schools, because the West crimes are never called genocides... even though I think the number of people he killed or maimed there is close to 20 MILLION!!! Not to mention that French, English, German kings and queens are never considered dictators and villains even though they butchered and conquered in blood half of the world.

  6. Alexander Skarsgard = the only reason I kept watching True Blood. I wouldn't mind taking a bite out of him! I can't wait for Tarzan!

  7. Tarzan was my absolute favourite book as a kid. I've read it about 50 times. I really hope they do a good job on this movie!
