PERIOD MOVIES FRIDAY: KATE WINSLET TO BE 'THE FAVOURITE' OF OLIVIA COLMAN'S QUEEN ANNE IN NEW HISTORICAL MOVIE WITH EMMA STONE! RACHEL WEISZ AND SAM CLAFLIN FOR 'MY COUSIN RACHEL' ADAPTATION?

KATE WINSLET TO BE
THE 'FAVOURITE' OF QUEEN ANNE
She's only recently been in period costumes at the court of King Louis in A LITTLE CHAOS, but it seems our dear Kate Winslet will get into corsets again since she has been cast in new historical movie THE FAVOURITE coming from critically acclaimed young director Yorgos Lanthimos (THE LOBSTER)! It will depict the political machinations behind the scenes during the reign of Queen Anne, the last monarch of the House of Stuarts, taking place between the end of the 17th century and first years of the 18th century, when Anne reigned from 1702-1707. Olivia Colman will play Queen Anne, Winslet will be Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough, the Queen’s close confidante, and Emma Stone will be Abigail Masham, an impoverished, distant relative of Sarah, who gains a position at court tending to the Queen. The story follows the shifting balance of power between the lead characters as they jockey for influence.

RACHEL WEISZ TO LEAD
'MY COUSIN RACHEL' PERIOD SET MOVIE WITH SAM CLAFLIN
Speaking of Lanthimos, he recently directed Rachel Weisz in the above mentioned THE LOBSTER, and Rachel has a new gig too, according to 'Deadline'! She, and our dearest Sam Claflin, are in talks to join Roger Michell's adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier classic novel MY COUSIN RACHEL, the period set  dark romance which revolves around Philip, a young orphan at a large Cornwall estate, who believes his mysterious, beautiful cousin Rachel may have been responsible for the murder of his beloved guardian Ambrose, also a cousin of theirs. As Philip plots his revenge, he finds his feelings complicated as he falls under Rachel’s beguiling spell.
LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS
Rachel Weisz is already shooting THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS with Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, which those who've seen some of the cuts, already call one of most emotional movies in years!

    1. I really had tough time choosing the pics. As you know I always try to have a theme, and this time I had this pic of Rachel and had to find something matching with Kate, but she doesn't do a lot of head to toe pics. Then I thought of using a green photo with Kate, but didn't have a matching with Rachel :) It ain't easy being a photo editor

    1. She sure will, strange she's never played a queen, though!

  3. Queen Anne was reputed to be a lesbian, so I can only keep my fingers crossed about this movie!

  9. Looking forward to seeing Kate on the screen as the Duchess and not the Queen as I'd hate to think of her losing her head.

Dahlink, you're package is in the mail. I put more than just teas in it though. I added some sweets for the sweet and a few Autumn things. Hopefully it won't take too much longer to arrive.

    1. Did Queen Anne lose her head? I bet it was deserved if she had :)

You is ever so naughty, dahlink! You ladies from Indiana, will spoil me rotten :) as I got the sweetest parcel from our dearest Theresa too! Melts my heart! Dahlink, they will rip it apart at the customs, but hopefully they won't steal anything. I often notice they opened packages and duck taped them back again at our customs. I always wonder what happens if somebody sends somebody something naughty? What's the reaction at the post office? :)

    2. They better not steal anything. There should be enough teas to get you through Winter and I put in some of the best sweets available here. Chocolate things and some nice creamy strawberry hard candies. Also there should be two little Autumn gifts.

My post office thinks I'm some sort of criminal. A foreigner sending gifts to someone from Eastern Europe? Why it's unheard of! The CIA is sure to be at my house anytime now!

    3. Dahlink, you didn't have to waste so much money on this lil' coon! You know even the smallest of things make me happy! And I usually tend to like cheaper things better than the expensive ones LOL

You know, doing time could actually do us both good... imagine the skills we could learn from the experts inside :) Those could really help us in the upcoming apocalypse (which might already have started some time ago)....
