'KING TUT' ANCIENT EGYPT
MINI SERIES ORDERED BY SPIKE
We're all epic today, people, starting with amazing news coming from Spike TV where they have officially ordered KING TUT into series! I've announced some time ago that it will be six part mini series about legendary Egyptian king Tutankhamun who was the youngest ruler to lead the ancient country. To air next year, with expensive marketing campaign, it will chronicle Tut’s rise to power and his struggle to lead Egypt to glory, while his closest advisers, friends and lovers scheme for their own nefarious interests: young Tut is thrust into power after the murder of his father. The neophyte ruler is forced to marry his sister in order to maintain the dynasty. Although Tut rules as Pharaoh, he is controlled like a puppet by three formidable men who plot against him and vie for the throne themselves. Against all odds, Tut grows from an insecure and manipulated prince to a hero on the battlefield, leading his kingdom into war and victory. Just as he takes control of his nation and his destiny, he is betrayed. With HBO's PHARAOH and HIEROGLYPH at Fox, this will be the third upcoming Ancient Egypt project.
RACHEL WEISZ JOINS
JANE FONDA, MICHAEL CAINE, HARVEY KEITEL IN 'YOUTH'
Here's a nice cast for you: Jane Fonda, Rachel Weisz, Harvey Keitel and Paul Dano have joined legendary Michael Caine in YOUTH movie which will follow Fred and Mick, two old friends approaching 80, who are on vacation together in an elegant hotel at the foot of the Alps. Fred, a composer and conductor, is retired, but film director Mick is still working. The friends contemplate their children’s lives, Mick’s enthusiastic young writers, and the other hotel guests as they face their future. While Mick scrambles to finish the screenplay for what he imagines will be his last important film, Fred has no intention of returning to music. But someone wants at all costs to hear his compositions and to see him conduct again. Who’s playing who is being kept close to the vest.

Great trailer ! And pics …A few times I would like to be a snake…
ReplyDeleteCheers .
we're so happy with all the epic movies this year - LEGEND OF HERCULES, POMPEII, 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE, HERCULES, DRACULA UNTOLD.... HOBBIT THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES...
DeleteKing Tut--I'm hearing Steve Martin singing in my head now. I don't suppose they'll bring him in for the soundtrack, haha!
ReplyDeleteI don't get the connection with him, but I'm not from USA :)
DeleteReally looking forward to some good Hercules after the other one sucked mythical ass!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't like LEGEND OF HERCULES? I thought it was rather nice... not spectacular, but lots of memorable scenes in it :)
DeleteNice? No way........
DeleteFight scenes were really stunning and original, especially in the arena, for example. And they were shot in a new way not seen before. The sets were also stunning and so was photography
DeleteNow I want a lion's head hat.
ReplyDeleteit's a Nemean lion :)
DeleteHercules looks pretty good!!
ReplyDeleteI hope it will be the biggest blockbuster this summer!
DeleteYikes! I hope that snake was photo shopped on! *shivers*
ReplyDeletesnakes like Rachel :)
DeleteNice Snake!
ReplyDeleteI think Hercules could be a good popcorn movie!
I hope HERCULES breaks records around the world... Dwayne can do it!
DeleteThat man must spend his life at the gym! :)
ReplyDeleteand frying tones of eggs for breakfast....
DeleteKing Tut looks good, doesn't it? Have a pleasant evening, Dez.
ReplyDeleteI'm extremely excited with all the Ancient Egypt series coming up!
DeleteI don't think many people know much about King Tut's life.
ReplyDeletethat is why Dezzy is here to educate the masses :)
DeleteHERCULES looks good.
ReplyDeletesure does!
DeleteI can't wait to see Hercules. I'm afraid King Tut will be another romantic dynasty movie, like Reign and Tudors. Loved both, but getting tired of the concept.
ReplyDeleteNot sure it will be romantic, since he died young
DeleteHERCULES looks very Conan, but I don't have a problem with that. :)
ReplyDeleteKing Tut will be fab, no doubt.
the trailer shows some really impressive and over the top production in the epic scenes. It might bring something new
DeleteA woman once called her boyfriend a snake. (No, it wasn't me.) Seeing that piture makes me want to be one....
ReplyDeleteWho says Tut was that pretty, Dezz?
he actually was, but more in a feminine sort of way judging from his images, but we wouldn't mind if he was depicted hunky in the series
DeleteCreative freedom.... I like that.
Deletethey might be as creative as to cast a full white boy for the role ... which is what they did at Fox with HIEROGLYPH... Hollywood has gone so lose with racial castings, Blue, that you might end up being played by Jennifer Hudson in a biopic about you :) and me by Octavia Spencer... which is better than being played by Gabourey Sidibe :)
DeleteYou mean like they did in the 1920's-1960s.....Hudson? Hudson?
DeleteChecked out the various upcoming Ancient Egypt series. Sounds amazing and thanks for the info. Dwayne's Johnson's Hercules is definitely the one to see. Damn that amazing trailer. If Rachel Weiz's photo has me going wow I can just imagine the guys.
ReplyDeleteWe've waited for so long for Ancient Egypt to come to TV and our time has finally come :) Hope they don't mess any of those series and shows
DeleteHey Dezzy. I finished one wall, just a small bit really but one small area of the Lemon Tart wall. Really looks pretty.
ReplyDeleteI see your yellow vest and shoes. Brilliant.
but I also have them for reelz too :) But the real ones are more sunny yellow than lemony....
DeleteThat is very cool. I love all yellows.
DeleteYellow is a happy colour
DeleteI agree.
DeleteI always always wanted a yellow house with white trim. Someday. Someday.
I also wanted my house yellow or pale green but they painted it horrid bluish mint green, it's really like a hospital or something....
DeleteAs somebody who had quite the childhood obsession with King Tut, I will definitely check out that show!
ReplyDeletewe're so crazily excited about it :)
DeleteWow. Even Duane's leather armor is ripped. :D
ReplyDeletehe's the essence of ripped :)
DeleteGood lord, Dwayne is so huge. That is going to be a fantastic movie.
ReplyDeletehope it will rule the summer as it should!
