HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
In romantic news today, "Deadline" reports that delightful Imogen Poots
(who will also join Aaron Paul and Dominic Cooper in NEED FOR SPEED game
adaptation) has joined Zac Efron in romantic
comedy ARE WE OFFICIALLY DATING. The story revolves around three male best friends who make a pact to remain single. The plot thickens when each begins to fall in love. Zac Efron is playing one of the friends, while Deborah Ann Woll will play the ex-wife of another man in the group. Meanwhile, young Daniel H. Wilson, whose first novel ROBOPOCALYPSE is awaiting movie adaptation in the hands of Stephen Spielberg with Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway attached to star, has sold yet another of his books for the big screen treatment. Alex Proyas will direct his book AMPED in which the story is set in a future where humans do battle with people enhanced by nanotechnology. Another interesting piece of news is that beside SNOW PATROL's Gary Lightbody, another musician will join the third season of GAME OF THRONES: Coldplay's drummer Will Champion will apparently beat drums in the epic show too.

SIDE EFFECTS TRAILER
Your trailer for today is for thriller drama SIDE EFFECTS which has a rather lovely cast lead by Jude Law, Catherine Zeta Jones and Channing Tatum and should be out in cinemas next February.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh, who hasn't scored much success with his movies lately, the complex story of this film revolves around a a woman who is forced to turn to prescription medication as a way of
handling her anxiety concerning her husband's upcoming release from prison. It is interesting that this $30 million film was originally supposed to have Justin Timberlake in the role which later on went
to Channing Tatum. It is also rather strange that the lead role was given to expressionless and non-charismatic Rooney Mara instead of Emily Blunt, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Michelle Williams and Imogen Poots who were all also in the game.
"Side Effects" looks like it could have some potential.
ReplyDeletewe do like a huge part of its cast :) And Zeta with glasses is nom nom :)
DeleteI met James Purefoy a few months ago (he's filming a show here in Atlanta with Kevin Bacon). He was a really nice guy, and shocked that I knew who he was, because "When you travel with Kevin Bacon, people don't see you." I told him, "Honestly, I like Kevin Bacon, and he was in STIR OF ECHOES, one of my favorite films, but you were in MANSFIELD PARK and RESIDENT EVIL and A KNIGHT'S TALE, also some of my favorite films and you were awesome in them."
ReplyDeleteoh, such a lovely story, Joshie, and I just knew he was all nice and humble. He was in so many epic films from A KNIGHTS TALE, SOLOMON KANE to JOHN CARTER this year, THE HOLLOW CROWN, he was amazing in ROME, IRONCLAD, CAMELOT, BLACKBEARD, GEORGE AND THE DRAGON, VANITY FAIR... he is always in period flicks :)
DeleteI'm in agreement with you on James Blond-I just can't bear Craig in that role-vacant eyes, no charisma and Bond just has to have dark hair. Purefoy would be so much better in that role-I might actually watch a Bond film again if he had the role. Thank your for the naughty link darling.
ReplyDeleteSide Effects could go either way for me. It has Law and it has Catherine and the storyline looks like it has some twist and turns in it. It bears thinking about.
if you click that other link you will see that my readers want him in Bond role too. I really don't get it how Craig got the role.. he must've slept with someone for it :)
DeleteI knew my ladies would appreciate the linky dinky... dinky indeed :)
Your readers obviously have good taste. And some of us even taste good-me I taste like spun sugar :)
Deletemyself tastes like Turkish Delight, bergamot flavoured :)
DeleteOoh, thanks for the morning naughtiness. I kind of liked Ironclad. I'll probably watch the sequel.
ReplyDeleteAnd Side Effects looks like it could be a tight thriller. Liked the clip.
we are not the ones to miss medieval flicks :)
DeleteNope, and when I was at the British Library looking at the Magna Carta, it was Paul Giamatti's face I saw as King John. :P
DeleteLol, I always picture John as that actor from famous classic IVANHOE with Robert and Elizabeth Taylor and my gorgeous Joanne Fontain as Saxon queen Rovena :)
Deleteditto what LG said, James Purefoy (loved him in Rome) in all his glory (and it was glorious) and another piccie of Jude Law. What more could a girl want?
ReplyDeleteok, maybe to look like Imogen Poots.
he and Polly Walker in ROME had the most amazing chemistry ever seen on TV :)
DeleteCan't wait to see James in his upcoming serial killer role. He looks positively evil and savage in the trailers. There's a nice pic of him all covered in some woman's blood. I love it that he's gone to the dark side. He's going to test Kevin Bacon for sure.
ReplyDeleteSide Effects would have been better with Michelle, not feeling Rooney in the part.
judging from your description I'm now kinda glad I'm completely unaware of that role of his :)
DeleteYes, I'm very sure you won't like him in that role. I'm all about the dark, though.:) I keep coming here to get my dose of lightness.
Deleteyes, you is the naughty queen of darkness. I really don't know why I'm hanging around with you :PPP
DeleteGood to see updates about James and Zac ~
ReplyDeleteI like the trailer, its looks scary and full of suspense ~
Have a good week Dezzy ~
glad you liked those, Heaven!
DeleteOooh Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman! But the premise doesn't immediately entice me, well I'll wait for the trailer I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI love Mr. Purejoy but I hope he'd do something less um, bloody.
yep, I'm kinda disappointed that Purejoy likes gorry stuff :( I've last seen him in SOLOMON KANE and that one was pure morbidity :(
DeleteI'm not sold on side effects
ReplyDeleteme neither, Adam
DeleteI'm also not sure about Side Effects.
ReplyDeleteImogen needs to eat something... ;)
My theory is that she feeds on cobwebs and puffs of air.... and occasional sip of water... but only a drop or two...
DeleteGame of Thrones is slowly veering away from the books. I'll just watch Season 1 and ignore the rest.
ReplyDeleteyou ain't missing much, Damien, I didn't like the second season either all that much... too morbid for me...
DeleteI think the Zac Efron movie seems like a good one. He's a cutie and I really like Deborah Ann Woll too!
ReplyDeleteyep, I didn't like him when he was a teen, but now he's growing into something very nom nom :)
