HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
An ambitious Australian movie project which I mentioned before is
gaining new cast members. Titled THE TURNING, it will see seventeen
Australian directors helming segments of the omnibus feature based on
stories by Tim Winton. TROY's Rose Byrne, and LORD OF THE RINGS duo Hugo
Weaving and Miranda Otto are the latest to join the cast which already
has another LORD OF THE RINGS duo Cate Blanchett and David Wenham. Cate and David will have their directorial débuts
in these stories which will all revolve around turning points in the
lives of the people of the Australian coastal town of Angelus. While the
segments are separate, there are plot and thematic links between them.
Meanwhile, "Variety" reports that Saoirse Ronan is the latest to join
the stunning cast of THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL which has already gathered
Jude Law, Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody, Willem
Dafoe, Jeff Goldbloom... Set in Europe, the film will deal with the
guests and employees of the Hungarian hotel. It has been revealed earlier that Fiennes is set to play the hotel's perfectly composed concierge.
ABOUT BUGS AND HEROES
And here's an uber weird trailer for new Serbian fantasy drama ABOUT BUGS AND HEROES directed by Petar Pasic who is hoping to show the film at some of world's biggest film festivals before releasingit into cinemas. The film has two parallel stories with one featuring CGI bugs that serve as the metaphor of human society. It’s a tale of lonely, broken people and insects who are, both in their own ways, searching for the lost loves of their lives – an introverted Night guard, his demanding father, a delusional Superhero wannabe, and an Orphan child, who spend their time in an abandoned shopping mall. In order to reconstruct his shattered psyche, the amnesiac Superhero sends the orphan out on the streets with a camera, and tells him to film random people. He then edits that footage into narrative films, which, he hopes, will help him remember his past and reunite with his long lost wife and
son. The Night guard who is living an unfulfilled, static life with his father, slowly befriends these characters he is meeting in the mall and falls in love with the beautiful and lonely nurse, who also happens to be the woman the orphan is filming, and which, for some reason, reminds the Superhero of his wife. Meanwhile, none of the humans are aware of
the parallel microcosm of insects inhabiting the walls of the mall. These beings have struggles and dreams of their own, which they try to overcome and fulfill. Suddenly, their seemingly insignificant actions begin to affect the lives of the human characters, until both their destinies become intertwined through a series of events which will
forever change their lives, and, ultimately, even the fate of all mankind. The film was presented to the amazed producers earlier this year at Berlin Film Festival who were stunned by the quality of the production. It is interesting that the film also brings the acting debut of worldwide famous Serbian top model Natasa Vojnovic.
william moseley is smoking hot. thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteindeed he is, wish he was present more in Hollywood films :( These two new projects of his are both European productions.
Deleteit's a hubba hubba post... today, mi lady... cate is styling and so is this post. all the narnia kids are adorable... i like the older sister... what is her name?
ReplyDeletegreat day, dezz!
You know I'd use any possible opportunity to post a pic of our Elven queen Galadriel... /bowsgracefullyandroyally/
DeleteI had to Google that girl's name since I didn't know it :) - it's Anna Popplewell
well she has a dirty name... doesn't she?
Deleteshe has killer eyes too.
if you say so, J-man :P
Deletei am sending myself to the corner of my room for a time out!!
DeleteI shall send some bunnies to bring you water and towels :)
DeleteSo many good things on here today darling. Cate looks oh so elegant in that photo.
ReplyDeleteLaw, Fiennes and Brody all in one film-it will be nice to see them all work.
About Bugs And Heroes looks very intriguing. It has a style that reminds me of Gilliam's "Brazil" And your lovely Natasa has such great bone structure. Those cheeksbones-perfect. And her hair, well I'd kill for it!
that was from one of her VOGUE photoshoots, darling :) She is always so graceful and regal.
DeleteWe do love ensemble casts, especially with that high amount of hunks present :)
It does remind me of Gilliam's work and I'm guessing Petar Pasic would love to hear that :) He's previous film WE ARE NOT ANGELS III was an utter rubbish, so I'm hoping this one will show his true shine.
You know, 20% of all the biggest world top models come from Serbia :) Even that Andrej Pejic, the boy who posses as a girl, is from Serbia and he earns more than Victoria Secret's Angels :) I hear he gets 15,000$ per show.
Oh my, that's loads of money for a shoot, but really you can't tell he's a blog when he's being shot as a woman. He's got a lovely bum :)
Deletehe totally looks like a girl, and it's interesting that his own brother is an extremely masculine hunk with muscles and everything, a total opposite.
DeleteOooh the best of both worlds!
DeleteI think William Moseley is growing up quite nicely. I do believe he's old enough for me to look at without going to prison :)
I think he is above 20, Annzie.
Deleteooo... All of these sound amazing! I think WM is such a handsome guy, and CB is just my all-time fave. But wow! Bugs&Heroes looks to interesting! Must check that one out! Thanks, Dezzy~ :o) <3
ReplyDeleteglad you liked all the dishes on today's menu, Leigh :)
Deleteaha Dear Dezzy you make me laugh, but really Appreciate you told me about my mistake (frozen) I fix it! and is true always I made the same mistake, anyway when you notice something wrong you can say me:))
DeleteI will, Gloria :) I'm a teacher of English, so I often do such things :)
DeleteThat is a high hunk content in The Grand Budapest Hotel project. :)))
ReplyDeleteAnd what a strange but intriguing trailer for About Bugs and Heroes. It's like watching the contents of someone's head while they're having a very odd dream. Doubt if that one will be available to me, but I'd watch it if it came to Netflix.
it most probably won't, I don't think any Serbian film has ever been bought for distribution in USA :( You can try to find TEARS FOR SALE at Netflix, if it's available by some miracle, that one is amazing, you will love it :)
DeleteVery excited for Cate, but will not pay to see that on the big screen. It sounds like too many stories for one film especially when they're all about one tiny little town and not some epic adventure. This has nap time written all over it. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy Peter Pevensie is working again. I'm especially interested in his WWI epic.
we shall watch it thanks to Torrents :)
DeleteI know you're interested in the WW1 one :)
Of Corsets Mine sounds cool. John Cleese is so funny! Love Cate Blanchett's dress :)
ReplyDeleteit should be a pure fun on film in that one :)
DeleteLots of eye candy today, Dez.... scrolled down your previous posts and really enjoyed all the "HOBBIT" gossip.
ReplyDeleteAlways get an good eyeful of hot ladies and hunky hunks on your blog....
this is an officially registered and approved candy shop :) We even have license for serving hot sweets and other treats...
Delete"Of Corsets Mine" sounds like MY type of movie, LOL! Love all those great actors. And "About Bugs and Heroes" could be interesting too, if it ever makes it to Edmonton -- perhaps it will play some day in our art cinema theatre? Who knows.
ReplyDeleteI think I will love that one too :) Love me such hilarious period comedies :)
DeleteIf you have some film festival close, it might appear there :)
Only Cate could look that good in that dress.
ReplyDeleteit's true. Julia Roberts or Gwyneth Paltrow would look like hell in it :)
DeleteI'm itchy just thinking about bugs and heros!! lol
ReplyDeleteHope all is well, Dez! I've been slacking in the blog department :( I didn't forget about your though!
Hey, JAxy, is the belly becoming bigger? :) You should post pics on Face :)
DeleteLove Cate! She always impresses~
ReplyDeleteMoseley is going to do well-my prediction :D
Oh, I like period films-this one looks interesting! I do feel itchy, now...?!
