"AGATHA" MOVIE & "DO IT YOURSELF" SITCOM
For all of you who like Agatha Christie, "Deadline" reports that Will Gluck will direct AGATHA, a film which will try to solve the mystery about what happened during those legendary 11 days when the famous novelist disappeared back

The author never explained her unusual disappearance. This action adventure will be a mix of Sherlock Holmes and "Romancing the Stone", using the event as a backdrop. The same site also reports that our beloved Ryan McPartlin from LIVING WITH FRAN and CHUCK will star in new sitcom DO IT YOURSELF at TBS which follows a 20-something laid-off math teacher (Ben Rappaport) who finds himself thrust into the blue collar world when he gets a job at that most American of retail institutions: the big box home supply store. McPartlin will play will play Tyler, a handsome Home Time employee who works in the paint department where he gives several paint demonstrations a week. The John Barrymore of paint, Tyler considers himself an actor and an artist, and really throws himself into his “shows”.

In TV news today,  another of CW's sf shows OXYGEN has found its lead stars in Matt Lanter (BH 90210) and Aimee Teegarden (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS) who will play Emery, a human girl and Roman, an alien boy who is, together with eight others of his kind, integrated into a suburban high school 10 years after they and hundreds of others landed on Earth and were immediately consigned to an internment camp where they’ve been imprisoned ever since. Meanwhile, over at BBC they have a new project THE WIPERS TIMES according to "Deadline"! Based on the true story of the creation of a satirical magazine that was published in the trenches during World War I, the film stars Ben Chaplin as Captain Fred Roberts who discovered a printing press in the ruins of Ypres, Belgium in 1916 and began publishing the blackly comic Wipers Times for troops on the Western Front. 6. I'm going with the theory that Agatha Christie was locked up in a room with someone resembling that Ryan fellow. A writer can dream... :D

Actually, I'd never heard that story about Agatha Christie before. What a great mystery.

  8. I'm all on board for the Wipers Times. What a terrific sounding film. Agatha sounds excellent, too.

I'm sorry, but Toby look 8 years old. I so cannot take him seriously as a prince. Epic fail on casting for that one.

    1. what epic fail, Melsy? The prince was a teen and don't forget that French men usually look prettier than French ladies :)

  10. Toby looks so pretty I thought he was a girl as my browser loaded ever so slowly.

I loved Ryan in Chuck. He and his wife Danielle are great together.

It sucks that CW canceled 90210. Now Matt is out of a job, but if it's anything like his days playing the lead in cheesy spoof movies of hit films, I'm sure he'll bounce back. No worries.

Yep, 90210 end this season. I've never seen it, though....

  11. I am impressed that CW is going with a historical show, good for them.

Not sure what to think about the new Do It Yourself show though. Something tells me it ain't gonna succeed.

    1. Historical genre is very trendy these days. I just hope that all of the new and upcoming historical shows don't turn into crap like CAMELOT was :(

  12. I love the CW's formula for everything they do. If you're hot...you're in. If you're not, you're out.

It shows that they understand America.
