NEW ROYAL TV DRAMA
THE SHAH, THE SPY, THE MADMAN
There are in total currently three TV projects on the shah of Persia and this is the third, latest one: Tina Gharavi and Shahriar William Raee are set to direct THE SHAH, THE SPY, THE MADMAN envisioned as a returning show about Iran’s last emperor, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi! The
first season will focus on the U.S.’s covert plot to overthrow Pahlavi in the early 1950s as operatives oust his Prime Minister and install a pliable young King in order to thwart the Soviet Union. Later seasons would explore the Shah’s reign, the grand 2,500-year celebration of the Persian Empire, and the 1979 Iranian Revolution!

My one curiosity, in view of Iran currently in the news, is how they'll present the shah as historical figure. so evil, Persians should be content with the government they have? The Shah made s many blunders he provoked the present state of things in Iran? or The Shah was good and kind , we should remember his times with nostalgia?
ReplyDeleteWell, there is Madman in the title, so I imagine they will trash him a bit.
DeleteDon't think this would be on our watch-list...I love that dress though. How come she is so WHITE?
ReplyDeleteWhy would not she be? Iranians and Persians are Caucasian people. I think we see Soraya, empress of Persia, in the photo, she was his second wife, before he married Farah. He divorced Soraya because she could not give him children.
DeleteI think Angie just meant that the photo is just overexposed, making the skin look ghost like. Not because she's caucasian. They need to turn down the highlights on that photo to make her look normal. The white dress doesn't help with the skin whiteness appearance.
ReplyDeleteI think she was white like that, back in those days it was ladylike to not expose oneself to sun.
