WHAT IS THE FILM ABOUT?
Based on Anthony Quinn's novel Curtain Call, THE CRITIC
set in 1930s London, is a thrilling tale of ambition, blackmail, and
desire with a dazzling anti-hero at its heart. When the most feared and
vicious theatre critic in town Jimmy Erskine (Mckellen), finds himself
suddenly in the cross hairs of the Daily Chronicle’s new owner David
Brooke (Strong), he strikes a Faustian pact with struggling actress Nina
Land (Arterton) who is desperate to win his favor. See the thrilling and super stylish trailer below and tell us what you think.
This looks like a good one! The trailer is pretty good. English accent is just cute.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the trailer, great cast and Ian is always mesmerising, the best actor ever.
DeleteWe do love us some Ian! I like this time period. So fun and fashionable. Will definitely watch!
ReplyDeleteAnd the film just seems so wonderfully directed, I bet Ian had the best of fun shooting it and going into this character, it is so him. His hilarious comedy Vicious is coming to Netflix this month, you should watch it, with him and Derek Jacobi as old gay couple of cranky divas LOL
DeleteI definitely will! It's one Allison would probably want to watch, too.
DeleteI literally cried laughing with the first season, the second is not so good, but the first one is hilarious, the two of them are such viciously darling devilish angels. It has just six eps per season.
