News from
BritBox say that the British streamer is set to produce
LYNLEY series, a revival of the old BBC show to be penned by Sherlock writer
Steve Thompson and directed by
Ed Bazalgette.
Our dearest
Leo Suter who is currently leading
Vikings: Valhalla and
Sofia Barclay (from Ted Lasso) will be leading the brand new small screen adaptation, playing DI Thomas Lynley and DS Barbara Havers, an aristocratic police detective and maverick sergeant from a working class background. Together, the mismatched duo become a formidable team, bonded by their desire to see justice done, while the series tackles issues around personality, gender and class. The series will have four 90 minute episodes.
I have watched The Inspector Lynley after reading the books, but again, books were way better.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard about it before, but I know it was popular and that it stared Nathaniel Parker.
DeleteThat sounds like it might be interesting.
ReplyDeleteBooks usually are better than dramatisations though there are a few exceptions. I saw some of the series with Nathaniel Parker and liked them though I remember thinking that Sharon Small who played policewoman Barbara was prettier than book Barbara.
ReplyDeleteThe girl that will star in this new version defo will not be pretty, very unattractive woman with bushy eyebrows, kinda like a Hobbit.
DeleteWell I don't remember book Barbara being like a hobbit but she wasn't a glamour puss either.
DeleteThis one is far for glamorous, looks like a farm wench with caterpillars instead of eyebrows.
DeleteWe do love us some Leo! Will surely look forward to this one!
ReplyDeleteI am happy for him even though he married recently.... some dancer....
