Hulu has released a trailer for their new period set comedy movie ROSALINE based on Rebecca Serle's bestselling book about Romeo's ex Rosaline. Arriving to Hulu October 14th, it is a fresh and comedic twist on Shakespeare's classic love story "Romeo & Juliet," told from the perspective of Juliet's cousin Rosaline (Kaitlyn Dever), who also happens to be Romeo's recent love interest. Heartbroken when Romeo (Kyle Allen) meets Juliet (Isabela Merced) and begins to pursue her, Rosaline schemes to foil the famous romance and win back her guy. Karen Maine sat behind the helm of this one.

WITH A HELLUVA CAST!
The Estate is out this November
If you are more in the mood for some comedy, check out the trailer for THE ESTATE out November 4th, with Toni Collette and Anna Faris playing two sisters who attempt to win over their terminally ill, difficult-to-please Aunt in hopes of becoming the beneficiaries of her wealthy estate, only to find the rest of their greedy family members have the same idea. You will be thrilled to see Kathleen Turner playing aunt Hilda with David Duchovny, Ron Livingston and Rosemarie DeWitt as the rest of the greedy and cunning family without morals. Dean Craig both wrote and directed this movie comedy.
Rosaline looks quirky and a tad ridiculous. If you're watching for silly entertainment value, I'm sure it's fine. I feel like this one is geared towards the, as you so hilariously put it, pod eating crowd.

Love Toni Collette! Will The Estate on Netflix?
ReplyDeleteNo, it is a cinema movie, but it might end up on some of the streamers later on.
DeleteI may watch Rosaline for a laugh or two. Hopefully it's not too ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed, I am not a fan of anything period set made by Hulu as they are usually primitive and not posh at all.

ReplyDeleteThat seems to be their target these days, ever since they launched that offensive crap The Great.
