men, greed, jealousy and corruption in a France and a Europe where
totalitarianism is rising.
I don't think either is for me. I don't watch a lot of tv but when I do it's usually horror.
ReplyDeleteDa scandal! Da shock! LOL
DeleteColours of Fire I would watch. I relate to her in a way, trying to run a business in a man’s world. I don’t know how many times I’m asked how my husband makes the products I sell, how if I’m sitting next to Jason people immediately think it’s his business and gloss me over to talk to him, and how many men in the same laser business I’ve pissed off because my stuff sells better than theirs. I have one who has bitched to other vendors and the owner of the space we rent that his sales dropped by 50% when I moved in. I’m sorry that I’m not sorry that my stuff is better than yours. I am a woman that caters to other women. If men can’t figure out what they want and make it with their laser, that’s their problem. They either need to reinvent what they are selling or aim towards a different market. But stop trying to step on my toes because it’s only pushing me to do better and run you out of business.
ReplyDeleteBut that is because it is wood, and it is very rare to hear women working with wood, it is nothing sexist. If you were selling food which he was making, they'd be turning to you, it is only natural to think like that.
DeleteThat being said, your stuff is defo better than the stuff of some men, I have that man Tibor who appeared on that post on Facebook of mine about rolling pins. He also makes them here and some other stuff which you can see if you visit his profile there, but his stuff is nowhere as pretty as yours. You also like to use naughty things and eff words in your stuff and that always sells better LOL
You would think that with all the wokeness, we’d be past stereotyping genders and putting them in their own little career boxes. Men can be nurses and teachers and bakers. Some of my favorite cake decorators that I follow on social media are men. Women can be pilots and welders and wood workers. It used to piss me off when people would ask if Jason was babysitting our kids. Um, no, he’s taking care of our kids. He’s not a babysitter. He’s a father for crying out loud. Maybe someday we’ll be past all this nonsense.
DeleteI do push the boundaries with the naughty words, but we keep it classy. I have a cute trivit with flowers on it, but it says “don’t eff up the table.” But with the f word. I have people tell me “your stuff looks so cute and wholesome at a glance, then you’re hit with a little shock when you realize what it says.” If you want wholesome, that’s what Target is for. You want cute but with an edge, You come to me LOL.
That is because we have models of behaviour based on past experiences and in the past, a centuries long past, women and men had their specific tasks. It will probably change over time, but some things will still remain male or female, like doing construction work or taking care of the babies etc.
DeleteI still think the poster for ASTERIX AND OBELIX looks like the poster for a really bad, vintage porno. lol!
ReplyDeleteLike they are touching each other's swords behind that shield, I haven't seen it before, but I do now that you said it again, must be because of Siffredi from today's news LOL
