  1. I love the caveat "done in the spirit of wokeness and diversity". Is that a threat? I'll watch Zorro just because i like the leads. I've been watching Renata since she was a teenager and MIguel was one of the few nice characters in Elite

    1. That is what they said, that Zorro will be a new modern example of masculinity and that ladies in the show will also be modern and that there will be diversity too. So expect her saving him a lot (because that is what allegedly ladies did in those centuries) and him being emotional and very tender and caring like most men from the old times.

    2. The thing is Gattocito that I don’t mind the scenario you project. Women saviors have been part of ancient mythology ad folklore. When I was researching folktales for my thesis, I found over a dozen of those stories. I was planning on a collection, but the MeToo movement killed it. Our current feminist wave goes against the idea of women aiding men in any form since men are bad news anyway. That I would resent in this version. A masculine tough, martial arts expert, who’s constantly uttering diatribes against patriarchy and claiming she has no need for men.
I don’t mind sensitive, tender heroes. we’ve had them around ince the 80s. I do mind the weak, selfish, arrogant and dopey excuses for heroes we have now. One that needs Lolita to tell him constantly what a useless scumbag he is and how lucky for him to have her around.
Wokeness, nowadays mean neo-Marxist speeches against patriarchy, the wicked rich and colonialism. So be prepared to hear a lot of anti-Spaniard dialogues. Probably Zorro will also oppose Native Americans mistreatment, and Netflix (for diversity’s sake) will include some LGTB character. No problem if he/she/it fits in the historical background

    3. That is all fine and true, but it is just that I don't remember Zorro being all that. Come up with some new hero don't use the already existing ones to fit producers' agenda.

    4. Especially since Zorro has to juggle two personalities, frail Don Diego and his dashing alter ego

    5. It is safe to say people will continue remembering Zorro as Banderas and Zeta Jones not these two kids.

    1. No, she looks very Russian which she is, that is the Slavic look of tall, modellike Slavic girls. We have them in hundreds in our streets.

  3. The series will be done in the spirit of wokeness and diversity.... That will be a hard pass for me.

Pizza With Love though sounds like a fun, feel good movie. I think I'll like that one.

    1. What is not to like about pizza and Colin, I am just sad it won't be a gay romcom as he is gay privately as far as I know.

    2. Maybe he's not ready to have that part of his life on display and up for public speculation just yet. It's just sad that in this day in age people still feel they need to keep their gay hidden. I'm a member of Free Mom Hugs and just this weekend we were asked to show some love to a poor kid that came out to his parents and it didn't go well. I mean, Jesus. How many parents say, "I love my kids unconditionally" then turn around and be shits when they say they are gay? So, you really don't love your kids unconditionally then, since you just made them feel like hell for being who they really are. Imagine being a public figure and have to deal with that backlash 10 fold because people suck.

    3. Oh, but he had gay movies already, there was a lovely one in which he falls for some rock musician, it had lots of explicit scenes too LOL The male star of the second season of that Bridgerton crap is also gay, he is in a relationship with my boy Hugh Skinner :)

    4. Well then, they missed the boat not making that one a gay rom com!

  4. I giggled at the Italian soccer coach. If that Italian is anything like the Italians I know, that must be a very loud game. lol That being said, the movie does sound bittersweet but good! Plus, I love me some pizza.
