'RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON'
DISNEY'S NEW ANIMATED FILM
Disney has announced a new animated movie with the first concept art from it: RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON will take place in the fictional Kumandra, a reimagined earth inhabited by an ancient civilization that venerated the mythical dragons for their power and their wisdom. Kumandra’s
five distinct clans form the Land of the Dragon, but dragons are long gone and Kumandra has since been invaded by a dark, sinister force. Raya is the hero, a lone warrior on a quest to save her world, determined to find the last dragon who she believes has the power to save Kumandra.
Frozen's Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins are directing the animated adventure |
'DICKINSON' COMEDY SERIES
UNVEILS THE FIRST TRAILER
Apple streaming service has revealed the first trailer for their period set comedy series DICKINSON starring Hailee Steinfeld as the 1800s poet Emily Dickinson! It will audaciously explore the constraints of society, gender
and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet, Emily Dickinson. Set in the 19th century, Dickinson is a coming-of-age story that finds Emily Dickinson to be an unexpected hero for our millennial era (the trailer looks as bad as anything millennial gets).
Dickinson will air on Apple's new streaming service this Autumn |
I wish Emily Dickinson had had such a wild time in her real life.
ReplyDeleteAt least she had her lesbiescapades :)
Delete'Raya' reminds me of a former coworker. Raya was her name, and she was of russian descent. I wasn't working with her directly,on a daily basis, so I only knew her as a nice young lady. Behind her back, however, everyone spoke about her as devil, witch, dragon. Here, in Disney's world, Raya is the hero, the one to fight the dragon. Reading about that made me smile.
ReplyDeleteSo she was Raya the Russian Dragon :) Which reminds me how sad it is that Disney never ever made an animated movie based on a Russian fairytales even though they're superior to most other ones.
DeleteI do like the art for Raya. I'll be looking for the trailer to release now.
ReplyDeleteDickinson looks promising. Probably not enough for me to get AppleTV, but we'll see.
You should get Apple for that SEE epic fantasy series :)
DeleteNow that Hailee is over 18, she is very cute. I watched Bumble Bee and she got me thru it.
ReplyDeleteShe will be happy to hear it!
DeleteDickinson would look amazing if it was more historical based. I love me a good history lesson, especially when it's based on a true story!
ReplyDeleteThis one will just be a ridicule probably.
