TRAILER FOR BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH'S "PARADE'S END" WW1 HBO BBC SERIES! ROBIN WILLIAMS IN "BOULEVARD"! "Y: THE LAST MAN" MOVIE ADAPTATION! STEVEN SPIELBERG PUTS "ROBOPOCALYPSE" ON HOLD

The reason why we love Robin Williams so much is how he is one the best comedians in history who isn't afraid to take diverse roles, some even very shocking. We loved him in ONE HOUR PHOTO and INSOMNIA, where he was dangerous and crazy, but we also loved him as caring MRS.
DOUBTFIRE. The fresh news is that he will now star in BOULEVARD, an intimate drama about marriage and lies, in which Williams will play Nolan Mack, a devoted husband in a marriage of convenience until a run-in with a guarded young man forces Nolan to come to terms with his own secrets. Robin will also be seen this year in star studded THE BUTLER in which he plays  Dwight Eisenhower, and in THE ANGRIEST MAN IN BROOKLYN as a man who has only a few hours to live and has to determine what to do with them. I've told you before that he will join Annette Bening in LOOK OF LOVE about a widow who falls for a guy who bears a striking resemblance to her late husband, and in THE BIG WEDDING next to Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Topher Grace, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Ben Barnes and Susan Sarandon! I wish he would accept to play Susan Boyle in her biopic :)

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
Deadline reports that New Line Cinema is continuing their work on the film adaptation of bestselling comic Y: THE LAST MAN. Based on Brian K. Vaughan's comic book series, the story follows Yorick Brown
, a young man who, along with his pet monkey, somehow become the only two male mammals on Earth, after a bizarre, cataclysmic event wipes out every other male on the planet, both human and animal. Yorick teams with a government operative known only as 355, to try and get to the bottom of this world-changing event. Speaking of movie adaptations Steven Spielberg has put his ROBO- POCALYPSE sf project on hold for a few months deeming it to expensive to make right now: it is supposed to be a film based on Daniel H. Wilson novel about the humanity trying to adapt to a world in which robots have taken over the control after a huge uprising.

PARADE'S END
You can also check out a trailer which HBO released for British mini series PARADE'S END which will finally debut over in United States on February 26th. The sweeping World War One five part tale based on
a series of novels by author Ford Madox, stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall in a plot that centres on a love triangle which develops between old-fashioned Christopher Tietjens, his vindictive wife Sylvia and young suffragette Valentine Wannop, in the midst of World War I and a Europe on the brink of profound change. As
the war drags on, Christopher goes to fight in France, and leaves behind Sylvia, a son who may or may not be his and Valentine. He must ultimately decide who he is to remain with for the duration of his life: the beautiful yet manipulative Sylvia or the adoring Valentine. The
series already aired at BBC last summer and the cast also includes Rupert Everett, Anne Marrie Duff, Miranda Richardson, Janet McTeer and Jack Huston. The series has received widespread critical acclaim and was one of the best watched at BBC last year.

  1. That color in his hair makes him look so different. Happy to see him working in other things though. I like him. That being said, until these things come on NetFlix, I'm out.

    Happy Friday :-)

  2. Are you sure that Y: The Last Man isn't some crazed pervert's fantasies written out in book form? It sounds like someone was a bit lonely when this was written...

    1. it very well might be so .... but most of the comic writers are slight perverts....

  3. I really like Robin Williams. He knows how to take on any role and really run with it. BOULEVARD sounds like something he can really sink his teeth into.

    1. I love him too, and I'm sad that he is kinda underrated in USA, even though he has such special talent unlike most other US actors of his age

  4. I love seeing actors (in this case male) mature into these great roles. Bill Murray and Jack Nicholson are two others who spring to mind.

    1. Robin is probably one of the most diverse actors ever, even though most people forget it and remember him mostly for his comedy roles

  5. Nice pic of Williams as Boyle. *snort*

And seems Mr. Cumberbatch isn't having any trouble finding work. He seems to be in everything these days. Not complaining. He's interesting to watch.

  6. Despite quite liking his comedic roles, Robin Williams will always be connected to 'What Dream May Come' in my mind. Such a visually stunning, emotionally powerful film.

    1. that really was a very powerful movie, one of the first ones to use that kind of dreamy visuals.

  9. I like Robin Williams. I think he's under-rated. Sort of like Bill Murray.

    1. Robin is definitely underrated. I've no idea why De Niro or Pacino are more popular than him when they don't have a gram of his talent.

  12. I love Robin Williams. Except for Flubber I think it was called.... There's enough flubber in my mirror image already... Insomnia was great. Have you ever seen that great movie where he defects from Russia? He must be the hairiest man in the northern hemisphere... No flubber, though. :)

    1. we do hate flubber ( I don't mind it on others - something to play with - but I do hate it on me) and I wish my plastic surgeon would give me a discount so that I could deflubberize myself once and for all.
We don't mind hairy - hairs give you a love carpet....

    2. Yeah I remember you telling me about a few pounds extra. Seems to bother you even more than me. Don't tell me.... you've tried everything.

    3. I don't really have extra pounds since I eat like a church mouse, my problem is excess skin left over from my teen years when I was extremely fat. That cannot be taken care with exercise nor diet, only with scalpel...

  14. Parade's End looks stunning and I can't wait to see it. I just love that era.

I adore Robin Williams. He was best friends with Christopher Reeve and took care of Christopher's son after he and his wife died within a year of each other.

    1. And LMAO...playing Susan Boyle.

    2. oh, I didn't know that about Robin adn Reeve! Such a brilliant info, love him even more now. How old was the son?

  15. He was 12 going on 13 at the time, I think. It was so heartbreaking and I just fell in love with Robin all over again. He told Chris, and later Dana, that he already loved Will as his own and would take care of him. I will always love him for that.
