The latest classic sitcom to get a reboot is DESIGNING WOMEN which finished airing almost 30 years ago! Airing for seven years at CBS (often next to Murphy Brown) it followed the lives of four women and a man working together at an Atlanta interior design firm! Sitcom's original creator is back, but it isn't known if any of the original cast (Jean Smart, Annie Potts, Delta Burke) will be back!

Nobody thought beloved adventure classic The Mummy needed reboot and they still made it with Tom Cruise and the movie ended up being a major flop for Universal, but it seems they are still continuing with their Dark Universe franchise of monster movies since the latest rumours from 'Hollywood Reporter' say they want Channing Tatum as the famous vampire killer in the reboot of VAN HELSING, which, you will agree, also does not need a remake since Hugh Jackman was a perfect vampire slayer. They've already attached Johnny Depp for The Invisible Man and Javier Bardem for Frankenstein, and they apparently also want Angelina Jolie for Bride of Frankenstein which should be directed by Bill Condon.

Only a week or so ago I informed you that young Andrea Riseborough has been picked out as the first cast member of BBC's new Agatha Christie two part series adaptation of THE WITNESS FOR THE PROSE- CUTION and now Kim Cattrall, Billy Howle and Toby Jones have joined her too!
THE WITNESS FOR THE PROSE- CUTION is set in 1920's London following the brutal murder of the glamorous Emily French (Kim Cattrall) that shocked the neighbourhood. All evidence points to Leonard Vole (Billy Howle), a young man who just happens to have been left the heiress's enormous fortune.
But Leonard, despite the claims of Emily's housekeeper Janet (Monica Dolan), is adamant that he is innocent and turns to his chorus girl partner Romaine (Riseborough) to help him prove it. Toby Jones will play Leonard's solicitor, John Mayhew, while David Haig will be King's Counsel, Sir Charles Carter.

Yes, yes, you will taste Cookie's cookies again! Fox has officially renewed their leading TV series EMPIRE for the third season ahead of the airing of the spring part of its second season March 30th! No wonder at all since it got both popular and critical acclaim, with Taraji P. Henson winning best actress in a drama Golden Globe this month and with viewership reaching 20 million and above each week. Although the second season saw a small drop among viewers, it is still number one broadcast TV series. Terrence Howard and Jussie Smollett also star in the saga of the family of hip hop and r'n'b music moguls. The end of the winter season saw Naomi Campbell's character take over the EMPIRE!
'SECRET LIFE OF PETS'

The only video I have for you today is a hilarious new clip from this summer's THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS animated movie but I can't establish whether it's sweet or if it actually turns me away from watching the film. It features Kevin Hart's little bunny who is not what you might expect. The white bunny named Snowball (who is insanely cute and also just insane) is actually building an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge on all happy-owned pets and their owners.
The news of the day is that Disney is preparing ALADDIN prequel movie titled GENIES in order to set the ground for the live action ALADDIN movie which would happen after GENIES. While ALADDIN was an adaptation of ancient Arabic folk tale about a lowly street kid who finds a magical lamp with a wish granting genie the prequel GENIES would be set in the world of those magical creatures, describing how Aladdin's genie ended up in the magical lamp. As I've reported before BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and MULAN are also getting live action versions!

The absolute TV star of 2015, Taraji P. Henson (that body from the photo has an 18 year old son, by the way) is joining EMPIRE's creator Danny Strong in THE BEST OF ENEMIES which he is producing. As 'Deadline' reports Taraji will play Ann Atwater, the ferocious civil rights activist in Durham, North Carolina who had a decade long battle with sworn enemy C.P. Ellis, from Durham’s Ku Klux Klan. Their feud came to an abrupt and unlikely end in 1971. After a court ordered school desegregation decree threw the Southern city into turmoil, Atwater and Ellis reluctantly agreed to co-chair an intensive, two week community meeting to try to reach a compromise. The extraordinary events that followed changed Durham, and the lives of Atwater and Ellis forever.
