Mysterious first trailer and some gorgeous character posters have been released for Chinese Australian fantasy adventure GUARDIANS OF THE TOMB (also known as The Nest) which should arrive into Chinese cinemas this January  with a rather stellar cast lead by Australian hunk Kellan Lutz, American star Kelsey Grammer and one of China's biggest female superstars lovely Li Bingbing next to Wu Chun, Shane Jacobson, Tim Draxl and Stef Dawson!

Currently playing in Australia THE OSIRIS CHILD is set in a time of interplanetary colonization, following Sy Lombrok (Kellan Lutz), a former nurse who is now a drifter with a haunted past and who forms an unlikely alliance with Kane Sommerville (Daniel MacPherson), a lieutenant who works for off-world military contractor Exor. In a race against time they set out to rescue Kane's young daughter Indi (Teagan Croft) amid an impending global crisis precipitated by Exor.

 If you're more in a mood for sf laughs than sf action, there will be eruption of those in the insane IRON SKY 2 a delightfully bizarre sequel to the 2012 unexpected mega hit from Finland which had Nazis hiding in space. We're again going sf, people, not that you will mind, right? The hottest gossip this boring beginning of the week says that last year's Hercules Kellan Lutz has met with director McG to talk about the lead role in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE which means he is the first candidate for He-Man the Prince Adam of Eternia. The movie is currently in the stage of the script being written, but as you know the story involves intergalactic fights, travels, powerful villains, sorceresses and talking tigers. What do you think will they do it child friendly, a bit like NINJA TURTLES, or will be it a space opera of large epic scale?

'DARK MATTER' SF SERIES

RETURNS THIS WEEK!

In the dead season of TV summer, one of the things that actually gave us some fun last year was SyFy's DARK MATTER show which is returning for the second season this Friday, July 1st! Are you excited? It wasn't the best of shows, but it was rather fun to watch and entertaining in an unassuming way.  It will again follow the ragtag crew of the spaceship Raza, who started off the last series with no memory of who they were or how they came to be on the ship, which now gets involved in an intergalactic conspiracy, as they search for a device that could prove vital in the upcoming war.

The old cast returns lead by Marc Bendavid, Melissa O'Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari Jr., Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross and Zoie Palmer as the ship's wise android. Melanie Liburd has joined the cast as a new member of the Raza crew, which will also include Shaun Sipos as Devon, a once world class surgeon, who is haunted by a dark past that may pose a danger to himself and his fellow crew members. Meanwhile, Franka Potente will be playing calculated Commander Shaddick, Chief Inspector of the Galactic Authority Serious Crimes Division. Ellen Wong will guest star as Misaki Han Shireikan the Commander of the Imperial Royal Guard of Ishida!

Well, now she's got herself a dashing partner in the muscly form of Kellan Lutz and the two of them will also see Kelsey Grammer as an addition to the international cast! The film is being planned as the largest ever budgeted Chinese Australian coproduction. To be filmed in 3D, NEST tells the tale of a team of scientists who discover a swarm of deadly, intelligent and carnivorous funnel web spiders. Battling through an ancient labyrinth, the team must learn the secret behind the spiders’ heightened abilities before its too late

Two trailers for you today, starting with the first teaser for Nordic epic movie BIRKEBEINERNE which hits Nordic cinemas next February and has just been bought for US distribution as THE LAST KING. The film stars Jakob Oftebro (Kon-Tiki) and Kristofer Hivju (Game Of Thrones) as medieval warriors who embark on a perilous journey through the snowy and icy Norwegian mountains to take their dying king’s infant son to safety and save the throne from the evil Bishop. As I told you before, also starring Pål Sverre Hagen and Thorbjørn Harr, and set at the beginning of the 13th century this epic adventure brings the story of the greatest flight which changed Norwegian history forever.

Here's a new science fiction movie for us and coming with a rather hunky cast indeed: as 'Deadline' reports Kellan Lutz, Daniel MacPherson and Rachell Griffiths will lead Australian sf action movie SFv1! The movie, which has already started shooting, is set in the far future in an era of interplanetary colonization, with the story following a drifter who teams up with a military contractor to rescue the contractor’s daughter. Amid an impending global crisis caused by the contractor’s company, the trio must escape to safety! Bren Foster and Temuera Morrison are also starring.

As  I reported over the last year, we will be watching Australian hunk Daniel MacPherson as Elven prince Arion next year in SHANNARA epic series at MTV, while Kellan Lutz is to star in EXTRACTION action flick next year in which he will be the son of Bruce Willis who tries to save his father from terrorists.

Today you can check out the first trailer for the film in which Crowe plays a Pulitzer-winning writer who grapples with being a widower and father after a mental breakdown, while, 27 years later, his grown daughter struggles to forge connections of her own. The movie should arrive to theatres some time this Autumn or early winter.
