THE STORY IS SET
in Paris, France, 1935. With a wide assortment of debt collectors lining up at her door, struggling actress Madeleine Verdier is with her back to the wall. But life is full of surprises. And then, for no apparent reason, someone puts a bullet in the head of the lascivious French producer, Montferrand. As a result, as if the cruel hardships of poverty weren't enough, the penniless artist now stands accused of murdering one of the city's most famous residents. Luckily, Madeleine's roommate Pauline Mauléon happens to be a lawyer. Of course, the prime suspect claims to be innocent; however, the truth is in the eye of the beholder. What happens if the producer's shocking murder isn't Madeleine's crime?

A nice period...and can't be bad with the fantastic Isabelle Hupert! Wish you a great end of year Dezzie!
ReplyDeleteIt played in your cinemas back in March, Philie!
DeleteThis sounds really interesting. Don't know who Isabelle Huppert is though :-) p.s Here we can easily buy all sorts of berries even in the middle of winter...I bought a whole case at the farmer market and since the market was about to close when I arrived, I did get a reasonable price for a whole case (1.5kg). My husband loves berries and pineapples a lot. I haven't eaten a single piece of fruit in years...not interested in modern sugar loaded fruit at all.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Dezzy! Hope you have a white X'mas there. All we have is RAIN.
GeeZ, Angie, she is one of ten most famous French actresses, has been acting for decades, not my fave, though.....
DeleteWhat do you mean you have not eaten a single fruit in years? How on Earth do you survive? I eat a lemon, a banana, an apple and two oranges or tangerines a day always. Plus seasonal a few times a week. Fruit sugar is not your enemy unless you are one of them keto freaks, but then your organs will be ruined when you enter your fifties....
Something about the posters is giving me the vibe of the game CLUE, which I love. A murder mystery for both game and movie so this is one I could see me enjoying!
ReplyDeleteIt does have an interesting premise.
