See the enchanting trailer below the post and tell us what you think.
  OUR HERO EVGENY ONEGIN
lives in grand style: balls, receptions, theater premieres and other entertainment that the capital can offer a young man. But social life has long tired him, so he perceives the news of the illness of his uncle living in the village as an opportunity to escape from the disgusting world. He arrives in the village, but finds his uncle already dead. However, the news of the death of a relative does not upset Evgeny much. His financial affairs are very sad, and his uncle is rich and has no other heirs besides Evgeny. Evgeny locks himself in the estate, avoids his neighbors, who very soon begin to call him an eccentric among themselves. He lives in aimless solitude until the owner, who has returned from abroad, appears at the neighboring estate - a young, enthusiastic Lensky, not satiated with life... And later on Evgeny's heart will be broken by gorgeous Tatyana and they will become world literature's most legendary lovers after Romeo and Juliet!

  2. I like to lock myself in my house too and avoid the neighbors. They probably don't call me eccentric, but a bitch, but I don't care. Jason plays nice with them, but I subscribe to the "good fences make good neighbors" plan.

    1. I was just thinking how I don't know who lives in most of the houses in our block. One of my neighbours said she never saw me before even though we've been here for twenty years LOL

    2. Some people are just aloof or just don't care. Jason can point out every neighbor when we are in town if we walk past them. Most of us have been here for 20 years too, but I couldn't tell you who they were if we saw them out in public. I swear, just last summer I was like "who is the old lady that is walking down Kristina's driveway?" Jason was like, "um, that's her husband, not an old lady" LOLOL! I know her but hardly ever see her hubby out. Her kids feed my cats when I am away so you would think I'd recognize him.
What prompted the conversation with your neighbor after 20 years?

    3. She worked in the local healthy food store that got close recently due to our bridge being torn down. When I started coming to the shop more often after starting my glufree life, she asked if I live near and when I told her my house is Vila Zimzelen (Evergreen) she said I have never seen you there. I think I have strange daily schedule, where I will go outside at the times of the day when most people are at work or something.

I do have selective knowledge of neighbourhood like you too, there are even some houses in which I will say hello to the husband and kids, but not the missus or vice versa, it all depends whether they returned the greetings at the beginning when we moved here, if they haven't they will not hear it from me again. We have a house ten meters from ours with the family with the same surname as ours and even though I greet the husband and the kids who are now grown up I do not greet his wife because she never greeted me eventhough I gave some free lessons to her daughter when she was younger. She never bothered to be nice, so why would I be? And I don't have a problem with her or anyone else thinking I am cold or something. Also the neighbours across the street whose little son just died. I greet the father, but don't even know how the mother looks like. I have also never in my life seen our direct neighbour even though I know he is there in the house and we only have a wire fence between our yards. I know the wife and greet her, but never saw him for twenty years. I did hear him as he used to play very loud music when he was fighting with her a few years ago, but never seen him.

    4. I’m a night owl, so I prefer to take walks at dusk when most are settling in for the evening. I don’t go out of my way to be rude. If someone says hi I will absolutely say hello back, but I don’t initiate conversations. I find when you’re considered friendly then the neighbors are always asking for favors. I asked Jason why he’s the first on our street everyone comes to when they need tools. It’s probably because they know he won’t say no since he’s too nice to them all. I’ve only had one neighbor bother me with asking to borrow a corkscrew. Guess I’m considered the neighborhood drunk If that’s all I’ve ever been approached for lmao! You probably take early walks when everyone is rushing to go to work or school and they just aren’t paying you no mind. But giving free lessons to a child should warrant some kind of friendly relations with both parents. Geesh, she sounds entitled with her lack of acknowledgement towards you.

    5. And she never bothers to sweep the pavement around their house and you cannot even walk properly there from all the hanging branches.

    6. Now that's just plain rude. Idc if you talk to me, but you better not inconvenience the whole neighborhood by not cleaning up from your yard waste that encroaches on public sidewalks.

    7. It is interesting that they have a lavish yard and garden inside, but they don't bother prettying it up outside, we have been avoiding their fecking branches for two decades now, countless times I have seen lil kids getting hit in the head with them when passing there. But they are rich so they don't care.

    8. Jason and I would snip them then toss them in their yard. I remember one year someone shoveled all of their snow into the street making it so only one car could pass at a time and very difficult for delivery drivers and busses to get through. We walked down with shovels and threw it all back in their driveway. They never pulled that shit again.

    9. I thought about it many a time, to go there under the guise of night with cutters but feckers have security cameras all around their villa. I once told him, yo, neighbour you could cut these fecking branches and he was yeah, yeah, I will and never did.... I generally have a terrible neighbourhood, with them, than the bitch across the street who is smoking my house with her chimney and the ones in the left who live like hobos and all with the noisy dogs.

    10. Bad neighbors are the worst. I've been blessed with the 6 on our court who are all pretty solid people. It's when you get to the next street over you want to start taking names and kicking butts. Idc if they have cameras. I'd walk over in daylight and snippity snip snip those branches. I'm surprised the city doesn't come do that though. If sidewalks are obstructed for pedestrians, ours will usually come out and clear them.

    11. Our institutions do not work, deary, even the general attorney is dictator's woman and lets crime go unpunished, imagine then how it is in all the smaller institutions. It will take decades to clean up all the filth from them if we ever throw down the villain because he infested all levels with his minions to the point of hopelessness.

    12. Well there you go then. If crime isn't punished, go lop up those damn branches, cameras be damned. Unless you're worried about retaliation from the neighbor. Get a whole posse of other neighbors that hate them branches and have a limb cutting party. They won't retaliate against multiple neighbors, I'm sure.
