Although this one was originally planned as an English language movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and Vanessa Kirby in the leading roles, they
eventually both dropped out and the project was retooled as a French language film. And it is probably for the better because French stars Gilles Lellouche and Melanie Thierry seem like such a better choice.

BASED ON
the best selling French language novel Soudain Seuls, this
survival movie drama directed by Thomas Bidegain, follows a couple that
must fight for survival after their boat is damaged in a sea storm and
they become stranded on a cold, deserted island which was supposed to be
their dream journey. The movie, which had a budget of over $20 million,
is currently playing in French 
cinemas and will start opening in
Poland, Germany and other parts of Europe till the end of this month and
will move over to Russia in January.

Gotta watch this one with my husband when it's available in German (on Netflix?). p.s the video is not available for me.

DeleteOh, a better choice in casting, indeed! I hope he didn't ax down one of them penguins there at the end of the trailer, but I suppose they had to figure out a way to eat on that god forsaken island.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anyone has ever eaten a penguin? I know they do use poor lil seals up in the cold areas, but penguins.... How do you even pluck such a big bird?
DeleteI’m sure someone has eaten a penguin. My guess would be someone in China because they eat anything that breathes. Their markets truly disgust me.
