THE PROMISED LAND
MADS MIKKELSEN'S PERIOD SET FILM TO AIR IN VENICE
It was previously known as King's Land then for some reason they opted for a rather bland title THE BASTARD, but now its international title has become THE PROMISED LAND with Mads Mikkelsen in the lead, who is joined by our dear Morten Hee Andersen (you remember him as the hot prince in Margrete Queen of the North) and Gustav Lindh, Simon Bennebjerg, Amanda Collin (the android from Raised By Wolves), Kristine Kujath Thorp, Magnus Krepper, Jakob Lohmann and Felix Kramer! It has been revealed today that the film will premiere at Venice Film Festival this year!
THE STORY OF THE FILM
directed by Nikolaj Arcel's
film is set in the middle of the 18th century when Danish King
Frederik V declared that the wild heath of Jutland should be tamed,
cultivated, and colonized so that civilization
could spread and new taxes be generated for the royal house. But nobody
dared go to this brutal land until a lone soldier named Ludvig Kahlen
stepped up. This historical drama film should open in cinemas October 5th in Denmark.
I still don't understand why it's The Bastard. Kings Land at least gives us a bit of an idea what the film would be about.
ReplyDeleteThey have still kept Bastard for Denmark.
DeleteThe Bastard doesn't sound too bad to me. We just finished 'the watcher' yesterday...it's not bad. Have you watched it?
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't, I despise Ryan Murphy with passion and generally do not watch shows about criminals, maniacs and psychos, which is pretty much everything on Netflix LOL
