A VISIT TO 15TH CENTURY DENMARK IN MARGRETHE QUEEN OF NORTH TEASER ON THE QUEEN WHO UNITED SCANDINAVIAN KINGDOMS INTO ONE REALM! NIKOLAJ COSTER WALDAU, CHARLES DANCE IN PERIOD SET SURVIVAL MOVIE AGAINST THE ICE

  MARGRETHE QUEEN OF NORTH
FIRST ROYAL TEASER IS HERE
Proving our status of web's most resourceful place for period set projects, we have something very fresh for you: a very atmospheric teaser
The film will arrive sometime this year
released today for Danish epic movie MARGRETHE QUEEN OF NORTH starring Trine Dyrholm (from Erna At War) as their 15th century queen. Søren Malling, Morten Hee Andersen, Jakob Oftebro also star in the film out later this year.
The year is 1402. Margrethe has achieved what no man has managed before. She has gathered Denmark, Norway and Sweden into a peace oriented union, which she single handedly rules through her young, adopted son, Erik. The union is beset by enemies, however, and Margrethe is therefore planning a marriage between Erik and an English princess. An alliance with England should secure the union's status as an emerging European power but
Margethre crowning Eric as her successor
a breathtaking conspiracy is under way that can tear Margrethe and all she believes in apart.
DEZZY'S HISTORY LESSON
The Kalmar union of Denmark, Norway and Sweden kept Scandinavian kingdoms joined for over a century. Margrethe, the founder of that union, was also known as the Semiramis of North and Lady King. She died aboard her royal ship when she was trying to recover Finland for the Union as well. She was succeeded by her great nephew Eric of Pomerania as her son King Olaf II of Denmark (whom she had with her husband King Haakon VI of Norway) died before her.

  AGAINST THE ICE MOVIE
NIKOLAJ COSTER WALDAU TO LEAD PERIOD SET MOVIE
Nikolaj Coster Waldau leads the cast
Speaking of Denmark, Netflix is producing Baltasar Kormakur's AGAINST THE ICE survival movie set in 1909, when Denmark’s AlabamaExpedition led by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) was attempting to disprove the United States’ claim to North Eastern Greenland, a claim that was rooted in the idea that Greenland was broken up into two different pieces of land. Leaving their crew behind with the ship, Mikkelsen sleds across the ice with his inexperienced crew member, Iver Iversen (Joe Cole). The two men succeed in finding the proof that Greenland is one island, but returning to the ship takes longer and is much harder than expected. Battling extreme hunger, fatigue and a polar bear attack, they finally arrive to find their ship crushed in the ice and the camp abandoned. Charles Dance and Heida Reed also star in the film.

  1. We don't get to watch lots of films and TV series from Scandinavian countries. Both films seem really promising.

    1. I think you will be seeing more of them as Netflix and Amazon will be turning to international production to get new shows. French series Lupin is currently the best watched on Netflix, surpassing even Bridgerton and Queen's Gambit in viewers (above 65 million).

  2. I really enjoy your history lessons. :) What an admirable woman fighting for peace instead of power. This was especially interesting to me because we know these countries as very neutral, peaceful nations - especially Sweden!

    1. I try to make them short but meaningful :) There will be more of them this January as this is the month when I always present international epic projects. Scandinavia isn't very peaceful, at least not historically, they fought against one another like crazy, it was a very dark part of Europe, and they are the home of Vikings after all, history's most savage pest LOL And they are not neutral, they still take part in most war invasions around the world they just pack it in a wrapping of peacefulness to fool the world ;) They are, however, very civilised and ordered, very nice for living, although during corona Sweden was the worst place to be.

    2. Really? We have heard of many different countries and their experience with COVID but nothing about Sweden. Why was it so bad there?!

    3. They did not follow that in your media? They were the only country that refused to bring any measures against covid for many months last spring, so they had no quarantines, no curfews, no masks, no nothing, thinking it would develop their natural immunity but it brought them a massive surge in dead people of course, it was very controversial in Europe and scandalous too.

    4. Really?! We have not heard a WORD of that over here and I'm constantly following the COVID news. We have heard about Italy.. but now I'm off to Google about Sweden.

    5. I'm not surprised, I did tell you many times that your establishment, basically democrats who own all the media, choose what you will see and what not.

  3. I wish we had more people pushing for peace instead of power. Biden wasn't even sworn in yet and we already had France asking us to return to backing their military. How about stop fishing for wars, especially ones we have no business in, and continue pushing for peace like the last administration was aiming for?

Greenland sounds like a place I'd hate to be stranded, though their little fishing villages are so cute!

    1. Yes, it is just a question of time when Biden will invade some unfortunate nation unlike Trumpie who was your second president in history not to attack any country and yet they constantly said he would start a war even after he concluded peace with Russia and Korea. And the media against Trump was so strong today, it was deeply embarrassing and unpleasant. I imagine they will try to destroy him now through media so that he wouldn't be able to come back, they will be even worse to him than they were so far.

  4. On top of that, we already have caravans of migrants heading our way. Thankfully, Guatemala and Mexico have been pushing some of them back, but it's only a matter of time before they say to hell with this. USA is telling them to come, why are we using our forces to stop them? Biden is about to open the floodgates and I am terrified of how much sickness they will bring in addition to crime. We can't do anything here without a covid test, but sure, let's let a million foreigners storm the border. What could possibly go wrong there? Not to mention how many other wars around the world Biden will pull us into. Let's pray we get some decent candidates to run in 4 years, or we're in for some really dark times.

    1. Yes, what was it, over a million of them is heading towards the border?

  5. Last I heard, close to a million because they heard that Biden was giving them 100 days to get here free and clear.

Sweden was so bad because they didn't take measures to shut things down when Covid first hit. My best friend's daughter's boyfriend lives in Sweden and they were still living their lives like normal. No masks, no social distancing, no closing of crowded venues, open borders letting every Tom, Dick and Harry in. When they finally did start to wise up and get on board with what the rest of the world was doing to prevent the spread, it was too little, too late.

    1. Yes, they had a crazy doctor for the chief of corona team. We have a crazy one too, some maniac vaxer who is obsessed with epidemics and has always wanted to play the game of shutting down a country into a quarantine, but none of our previous presidents gave a fuck about him until our current vile dictator who gave him freedom to do whatever the psycho wanted. He kept our grannies and granpas locked fully for two months (total lockdown, like in a prison). Sick old cunt he is. The whole country hates him and he will probably end up in a very bad way if the people get their hands on him. Because our government does not supply the hospitals with enough equipment we have the highest number of dead doctors in Europe (well over a hundred while surrounding countries have one or two) and he said they all contracted corona on coffee breaks. We wanted to burn him alive at the square at that point.

    2. Did you see what they did to the National Guard troops that they didn't even need for the inauguration? They were forced to sleep in a garage on a cement floor leaning against their backpack.. all so they could have a photo opportunity to continue the message they're promoting in the media. Meanwhile, the capitol building was emptying, including several large offices where these men could have slept with heat and a little more comfort. Or, you know, get them a motel room.. SMH, Disgusting!

    3. Yes, saw it today. A man who need such protection during his inauguration probably wasn't inaugurated and chosen by the people if he fears them so much LOL
