The novel by Suzanne Allain, on which the script is based, will be out next month globally. As 'Deadline' reports, Sope Dirisu will play the titular character of Mr Malcolm, London’s most eligible bachelor. When Julia (Constance Wu) is jilted by him after she failed to meet one of the items on his list of requirements for a bride, she enlists her friend Selina (Freida Pinto) to help her take revenge. A charming treat for today is new trailer for SECOND BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL, the expansionist dream of Sonny (Dev Patel), which is making more claims on his time than he has available, considering his imminent marriage to the love of his life, Sunaina. Sonny has his eye on a promising property now that his first venture, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel for the Elderly and Beautiful, has only a single remaining vacancy - posing a rooming predicament for fresh arrivals Guy (Richard Gere) and Lavinia (Tamsin Greig). Evelyn and Douglas (Judi Dench and Bill Nighy) have now joined the Jaipur workforce, and are wondering where their regular dates for Chilla pancakes will lead, while Norman and Carol (Ronald Pickup and Diana Hardcastle) are negotiating the  tricky waters of an exclusive relationship, as Madge (Celia Imrie) juggles two eligible and very wealthy suitors. Perhaps the only one who may know the answers is newly installed co-manager of the hotel, Muriel (Maggie Smith), the keeper of everyone's secrets. As the demands of a traditional Indian wedding threaten to engulf them all, an unexpected way forward presents itself. The movie is out next March!

TOUCHING CIVIL WAR DRAMA

I'm spotlighting some of the smaller films opening up this month in cinemas, for you today starting with FIELD OF LOST SHOES, a historical drama  based on a true story of the American Civil War, culminating at the Battle of New Market in May 1864, when a group of teenage cadets, sheltered from war at the Virginia Military Institute, had to confront the horrors of an adult world after being called upon to defend the Shenandoah Valley. Leaving behind their youth, these cadets must decide what they are fighting for. Jason Isaacs, Tom Skerritt, Lauren Holly and David Arquette star!
