JOSHUA SASSE, SUSAN SARANDON, TRACE ADKINS, ANNA FRIEL TO LEAD COUNTRY MUSIC DYNASTY SERIES MONARCH AT FOX! A BOY CALLED CHRISTMAS TRAILER WITH JIM BROADBENT, MAGGIE SMITH, MICHIEL HUISMAN, TOBY JONES

  JOSHUA SASSE JOINS
MONARCH TV SERIES AT FOX
If you are missing Empire on Fox, they have another music dynasty coming to the small screen, but now a country one: Joshua Sasse has just joined their new series MONARCH which will start January 30th following
Joshua Sasse will be the son of the family
America’s first family of country music, the Romans, who are headed by the insanely talented, but tough as nails Queen of Country Music Dottie Cantrell Roman (Susan Sarandon). Along with her beloved husband, Albie (Trace Adkins), Dottie has created a country music dynasty. But even though the Roman name is synonymous with authenticity, the very foundation of their success is a lie. And when their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, heir to the crown Nicolette “Nicky” Roman (Anna Friel) will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy, while ensuring her own quest for stardom. Sasse will play Luke Roman, the smart, charming but insecure son of the Romans, as well as the CEO of the family’s business, Monarch Entertainment. Luke is close to his sisters Nicky and Gigi (Beth Ditto), and is the apple of his mother’s eye, but he has a troubled relationship with his father, whose approval he can never get, no matter how hard he tries.

  2. A country music dynasty series? My mom will probably watch that one. I forgot what that one was a few years back, nvm I just looked it up, it was Nashville. She loved that show. And how that The Last Kingdom isn't taking up anymore of her time, she'll be in the market for a new series to sink her teeth into.

    1. I just do not understand the casting, Susan Sarandon is mostly obnoxious and difficult to digest and has not a g of glamour in herself needed for the role, Friel has no star power and Beth Ditto isn't even an actress. It is beyond me what they are trying to achieve with that cast especially after perfectly cast Filthy Rich and Empire.

    2. PS the final season of Last Kingdom should probably arrive if not winter, then spring, maybe even sooner, you never know with Netflix.

    3. We'll see if it can get an audience. It's not one I'll watch, but Sarandon does appeal to the older generation like my mom, so as obnoxious as she is, I'm sure she won't break the show. I don't know anything about the other cast members to make judgement on them, but I'll take your word on it that this one is poorly cast.

    4. Your mom does not care that Sarandon is an extreme libtard? She, Fonda, Meryl, are very much into extreme liberalism.

    5. Apparently not. She was a first time voter last year, never giving a crap about who was in office before, but she finally registered to vote for Trump. That didn’t stop her from swooning over Frank and Gracie on Netflix and I believe Fonda started in that one.

    6. I tried that one and couldn't last for more than two episodes, it was just too boring, but it obviously has fans as it is on season five or six, methinks. It is good for older people to have their sitcoms too. I personally adored Cool Kids and love old people in sitcoms.

    7. There's another lady that is in her mid 50's that I've worked with a few times that raves about it too, so maybe it appeals to women who have already went through menopause. I haven't seen Cool Kids, but it's another one I need to catch!

    8. It is defo a sitcom for older women.
Cool Kids was cute and funny, not the best of shows, but the crew had chemistry and it could've lasted a season or two more and it probably would've if they had Betty White as female lead.

  3. I'll skip Monarch, but the holiday film looks delightful! My daughter has already started watching Christmas movies. Who can blame her?
