PREMIUM SPOTLIGHT ON EMPRESS ELIZABETH OF RUSSIA EPIC TV SERIES COMING TO THE SMALL SCREEN THIS AUTUMN

 TZARINA ELIZABETH OF RUSSIA
NEW EPIC TV SERIES
Yulia Khlynina takes the lead role
Coming, to my latest knowledge, sometime in October is Russian national broadcaster's new historical television series from the collection "Love Story. History of Russia" ELIZABETH (Елизавета) which tells about the fate of Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter I, who was only sixteen when her father left her in control of a huge empire. For Elizabeth, the throne became a curse: against her will, the girl finds herself drawn into a whirlpool of palace intrigues, where she is opposed by influential courtiers - Andrei Ivanovich Osterman, Alexander Danilovich Menshikov and even her own mother, Catherine I. The twelve episode prequel to Catherine the Great

   WHAT'S THE SERIES ABOUT?
On the eve of the death of the Russian Emperor Peter I, the courtiers and influential gentlemen close to him are interested only in the question concerning the next pretender to the throne.  DEZZY'S HISTORY LESSON
After she managed to secure the throne for herself, Elizabeth of Russia (1709-1762), ruled her father Peter the Great's empire for two decades and to this date remains one of the most popular Russian monarchs because of her decision not to execute a single person during her reign, her numerous construction projects, and her strong opposition to Prussian policies. During her reign Elizabeth continued the

  1. This is something that I would love to watch! Although, the actress looks much younger than 16. As a mother, I find it hard to believe that anyone could compete against their daughter instead of mentoring them to succeed.

    1. Moma Catherine probably had unfulfilled ambitions issues. There are so many queens in history who came to power by taking it over from their kids, even Catherine the Great who came after Elizabeth was originally just supposed to be a regent for her son, but decided to take the power for herself and her son hated her for it to that extent that he erased all memories of her after her death.

  2. Not sure I would like the series, but she looks really gorgeous.

    1. She is very pretty and unusually upbeat. The actress who played her in Catherine the Great was also beyond amazing and very well cast.

  3. Actors costumes look amazing! This kind of films (historical subjects) are very popular here. Love to watch it.

    1. Here as well, our country has already bought it! Russians were inspired by your Hurem series a few years ago and started making their historical shows as well.

  4. I look at Allison, who can't even order Starbucks by herself at 17 and wonder how one would run an entire empire at 16. The actress is really cute. This does look like one that I'll have to try to catch.

    1. I'm a bit confused by the official plot because as far as I know she lost father at 16 but came to throne only when she was 33 because before her the rulers were her half brother, his son and then her older sister Anna whom she threw down in a coup.

  5. I would love to watch this, but MHzChoice is not buying Russian, and neither is Tubi. It's so typical that they would sell it to Mexico before the States. By the way, Netflix is stocking its pantry with a lot of Latin Ametican öriginals"that are cheapo to say the least, but have an audience like "who Killed Sara". Meanwhile they buy oddities from Nigeria to Roumanian sitcoms. I guess The Witcher and Bridgerton are the only Netflix shows that hav some sort of fandom. You are right: Foundation; Wheel of Time and Lord may become the next GOT and Netflix has nothing to compete.

    1. Their two massive hits this year were Barbarians and Sweet Tooth, both with over 50 million viewers and the fact that none of those two series would have any success on any of your networks just speaks how low Netflix is scraping the barrel.

    2. Were they? I thought its biggest hit was The Queen's Gambit, followed by Bridgerton. By the way, I left you comments in my blog.

    4. Well, it was a period piece and they said it was álternative history", there are many out there that think Queen Charlotte was African. I'm sort of gloating over the fact that despite all its nominations it didn't grab one single Emmy.

    5. The very thought the it was nominated was offensive enough :) Well, many people are also in illusion that Egyptian queens were black even though most of them were white with olive skin and white Caucasian facial structure and lines, even Nefertiti whom they like to call black had totally Caucasian nose and cheeks. And Rhameses was blond with blue eyes confirmed by all the leading Egyptologists.
The Emmys were atrocious as always, that garbage Crown winning so many awards with always terrible Coleman who was beyond atrocious as Elizabeth, Gillian Anderson who made a ridiculous parody out of Thatcher and Corrin's pathetic efforts in acting. Not to mention the whole show is based on lies most probably. The biggest loser is Maid's Tale which had over 20 noms and won zero LOL

    6. The Emmys showed that Netflix rules, but not precisely for the excellence of its products. I did like Queen’s Gambit and it deserved awards, but this last season of The Crown is a pack of lies that contradicts what Diana said in interviews and to her biographers, what her biological family had said, what people in those days read in the news (me being one of them.) They even mixed dates; the embarrassing part is that those facts are so easy to check. The Corrin creature turned Diana into such a nasty piece of shit, she should be accused of high treason, and I don’t see the need to have Olivia Coleman playing queens, she is so vulgar, nothing royal about her.

    7. Have you see what Corrin wench wore at the Emmy's, I swear it was the ugliest red carpet outfit I ever have seen and it is packed with horrid things each year. She was probably on drugs when she dressed.

    8. She wore a Handmaiden's cap and Halloween feline gloves. Is it because she is retarded or is it a non-binary fashion statement?

    9. I'd say it's the case of a retardism, sadly.

  6. She sounds like she was a great ruler.
